Watch this video first to see just how many hummingbirds we had in the backyard. We have had the feeders out for about 5 weeks so far, and when they were first put out, we were lucky to get 4 max. Now we can easily get twenty or more. This video also didn't show the two other feeders that had about 7 birds between them. This was also just the first bird that managed to perch on my thumb, after the first one decided it was okay the others decided to try it out. I could have 4 birds on my hand at one time. Since the feeder I had my hands under only had 4 "flowers" If you listen real closely, you can hear the chirps in the first video, and the buzzing in the second. How... is this even possible. There are only 2 or 3 in my backyard MAX, and I put those things out there like it's free candy, which is basically is!
I live in Louisiana, so I'm almost right in their path on their winter migration down to Mexico. Supposedly they stay around this area from March (I think) to about the middle of October.
