God, there's some uncanny valley shit going on with that Tommy impression. It's close, but the fact that it's close makes it seem even more off than it otherwise would.
This better get the fucking oscar
Looks really good, i easily doubt a movie when it has Seth Rogen in it and James Franco since its usually another dumb stoner movie but this looks incredible

I feel like once you'd get into the movie you'd get over it, heck, I was already getting in to it before the trailer ended.
I think he's doing a better impression here than the teaser.
Can't wait for this movie.
Does anyone recognise the music in the trailer?

I really want in the end for them to have the vampire car scene.
I hope this gets nominated for an Oscar just for a chance to see Tommy Wiseau appear on stage.
I saw this at SXSW last spring.
Tommy Wiseau was there.
It was like seeing a unicorn.
Gotta love how in the trailer they show that completely unnecessary and expensive dual camera setup they used irl,
because Tommy couldn't really understand the difference between film and digital
Also he actually bought those, instead of renting them
Whatever makeup stuff done to James Franco's face is actually really fuckin' good, btw.

I’m absolutely digging this holy fuck

I saw The Room in NY. He was there. He blessed me (and a couple of others) in front of the entire theater of people just because we bought his underwear. He drinks 5-6 cans of redbull at a time. He has the greasiest hair. He wears 3 belts and none hold his pants up. Hes my hero.

And by "blessed me" I mean he gave me a dog tag, did the sign of the cross, and said I will be very successful.
Imagine if The Room was slightly better than what it is today, it would be a forgettable experience compared to the bizarrely bad movie we now have.
I mean how many movies out there still attract packed theaters with people wanting to see a terrible 14 year old movie and i am not talking about The Disaster Artist but about the screenings of The Room itself.

Those numbers are looking damn good.

I really loved it. There's only one part where Franco overacts as Tommy Wiseau; the rest is spot-on.

I can confirm that feeling. Few years back we went to see The Room at a screening, I turned up early with my friends, he was just alone at the bar, I couldn't believe it. I didn't know how to approach him. Had a drink and finally asked, and he was the nicest, weirdest guy ever. You can see the absolute shock on my face in that photo. (Top right guy)

I can see this being my favorite movie of the year next to Baby Driver and It.

Screenings of The Room are really amazing. The vibe you feel in the audience is something unmatched and it feels like a better move when you have an audience of dickheads throwing plastic spoons everywhere
No other movie I think has brought that level of interaction or bonding that I can think of.

Shit you got the blessing and the underwear too?
Legendary
I thought Tommy Wiseau was playing himself, I didn't realise it was James Franco...
I can't wait to watch this already
Damn, I'm really psyched for this movie.
I was the 'chaperone' so some of my much younger friends could go to a festival earlier this year, and on the drive I showed em The Room.
Bad idea. Forgot that it's like 50% sex scenes. Super fucking awkward, I was sitting next to a 16 year old friend of mine and if you've seen the movie you know that those scenes have no plot relevancy at all and are basically softcore Tommy Wiseau porn. And then they just don't stop happening. So that was super awkward.
Prepped a new wave of people for The Disaster Artist before it comes out though. The Room is amazing in the way that it self-generates it's fans. You don't have to tell them anything besides "watch this" and they get it.
I never thought I'd see the day where I was this excited for a James Franco film

Oh cool, I was at the same screening as you. I can also confirm Tommy is very polite and weird. Hope you weren't the guys booing The Neighbors.
Okay the fact that I can visualize the exact pages this movie pulls from restores a lot of faith in this movie for me.

James Franco I can see as Tommy but his brother as Greg just doesn't work for me
