All DICE had to do was Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V Battlefront 2 and include maps from the very first Battlefront (the two Bespin maps are still my favorite) and I would've been happy.

This is just the tutorial. I think the rest was going to be more like the other games' campaigns with a bit more polish.

For footage of an alpha build in 2006-2008, this isn't too bad.
Just to think if Free Radical was able to release this, there would of been a good Battlefront 3 and possibly a 4th Timesplitters.

God no.
I love Battlefront. It was my childhood, but it's an awful game mechanically. Dice needed to rebuild that shit from the ground up.
Don't get me wrong, the fact there's no bots or anything like that kills me, as does the change in a lot of the core features, but a copy paste of Battlefront would have been awful in 2015. Games like that don't really fly anymore.

They added an offline skirmish mode to Battlefront couple patches ago, but its only two game modes.

You seem to forget that battlefront 2 shipped ten years ago for roughly the same price and had twice the amount of content, plus modding.
A copy paste would have been perfect.

I can still play hours of Battlefront 2 and I can't stomach 10 minutes of the new Battlefront.

Skirmish's game modes are Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron, so those maps.
But only the base game, none of the DLC maps.

Wasn't Battlefront 1 and 2 campaigns just a linear sequence of battles with a bit more scripted elements than the MP maps? Galactic Conquest was a separate mode.

Battlefront 1 was offline conquest with bots, 2 had a scripted campaign with objectives.
It was literally a PC version of the PSP Battlefront, which was cool as heck

The only maps in the campaign not available normally in mp were just space maps anyway.
And instead of getting this, we got the trash that is the new battlefront. Can't wait for galaxy in turmoil to come out.
