STUFF NOT MENTIONED IN VIDEO
The house was so nice that it caused a lot a of traffic in the circle. The neighbors weren't too concerned about the lights as much as the traffic I believe. Anyway they called the Ross Township Community Center to have him remove the lights, and he did this in response. The decorations are actually pretty creative, I think right now there's a virgin mary with a knife through her head. He's doing all this because he felt his legal rights of expression were violated. Since Ross Township doesn't want festive stuff, he completely trashed his own yard and destroyed all his old decorations to make it what it is now.
The signs basically call the Township commissioner and some neighbors cunts for making him take down his xmas lights. There was some drama with mail (he thought neighbors were stealing I think) and now he shits on the mailman. They now have a lockbox at the bottom of the neighborhood instead of using mailboxes. I think he has a old military floodlight he uses to bother the neighbors in the early morning, its about the size of a kitchen table.
If anyone care I live up the road from him, but not in the circle they show in the video.
I feel bad for the guy, going by that video his neighbors are real jerks.
Wow, it's some guy doing stuff with his own yard and these people literally said they feel like hostages in their own home.
People need to reevaluate their lives... this is almost like a parody of offended parents.
I would just get all the neighbors in the circle to get equally obnoxious flood lights and just do the same to him. But also the fact that any one guy would be willing to rack up that large of an electric bill just to make a point really says something.
jesus christ this show is so obnoxious and should not exist

I'm pretty sure anyone would go mad having this crazy fuck as a neighbor.
I thought Ross Township sounded familiar, then I saw PA. Sure enough I'm like 30 mins away, if that. Gotta feel kinda bad for the guy.
Sounds like most of the people defending the guy didn't watch the whole video. The dude overreacted to a few minor things which were probably big deals at the time, but he must be messed up in the head if he holds this crazy grudge for this long.
Haha I'd love to have this guy as a neighbour, all the people complaining seemed so sterile
this leading a divorce? What a dumb cunt. As for the rest of them just stop paying him mind, if you cant do that move. yes he overreacted but it is his property to do as he pleases.

And how is defending a guy with mental health issues a bad thing?
I can't imagine being a person whose life revolves completely around petty hate.

probably got nothing else going on in his life, why not.

I don't know about you but having floodlights shined into my windows, car alarms going off and sledgehammers hammering through the late night would piss me off a lot
Stop saying you'd love to live near him. The guy is a complete nutter, and seems like a huge prick. If you spent your savings to move to a nice area and raise your kids and you get this after asking someone to tone down his lights then you wouldn't be so happy.
and you get this after asking someone to tone down his lights then you wouldn't be so happy.
While he is acting like an immature prick, something tells me his neighbors aren't telling the full story, though. Seems like they grouped up behind his back and fucked him over without even trying to talk to him about it first

"fucked him over" by getting him to remove his original obnoxious albeit inoffensive Christmas display?
In the UK you'd get more than just a fine for doing what this guy is doing. It's harmful to your health to be woken up by sirens, lights, or anything for that matter during the middle of the night.
That disturbance and the appearance of his house - that devalues the surrounding property. That costs them real money. They even had to rent the house at reduced value, causing them undue financial hardship. I can't believe anyone would feel bad for this guy, that's absolutely absurd.
I can only imagine all the people sticking up for the guy are those who have no clue just how significant the surrounding area is for the value of a property, and just how difficult it can make it to sell the property.
So what if they went around him to have his original lights forcibly removed? At the end of the day, he simply had to tone down his frankly god-awful original Christmas display, and instead he's rebelled and been an utter child about it
Did anyone actually apologize to him?

Like it seems the neighbours never even tried to negotiate with him ever, they went around him at first, probably ruined the guy's christmas by making him take down the display he worked hard on and never even tried to say sorry or anything.
Just seems like some stuck up white people getting butthurt at each other.

Did you actually watch the video? They don't have to apologize to him, because when they originally asked him to tone down the lights he flipped shit and started doing this. They tried to be nice and bring him pies and stuff and he just threw it on the street and put up signs saying he'd shoot on sight. The only one who has ruined anything was him.

Shut up, don't try and turn this into an argument that doesn't exist.

Do you ever stop and analyse what you are watching critically to try and figure out other sides of the story or do you just believe the first person that cries in any situation?

Because the man flashing floodlights into peoples windows, starting car alarms, threatening to shoot people and refusing interview clearly has a just reason to do it caused by those evil neighbors of his?
What a cunt

He changed his display when his neighbours went behind his back to the municipality to get it taken down.
They try to blame their divorce on him, loooool.
Just leave the guy be and it would have all been good, but they just couldn't. (because his display was awesome and cooler than anybody elses)
You can say whatever you want, but he wasn't doing anything illegal.
It seems to me that the neighbors are the true cunts (but of course they all act like victims and "hostages" in the interviews).
Truly pathetic.

His original light display was hideous, and was causing increased traffic in the area - so they asked him to "tone it down"
When he didn't, they got the authorities involved. That is the correct course of action
I'm reminded of something that happened near a family member of mine. A couple moved into a very affluent neighborhood and threw some wildflower seeds into a corner of their front yard as something to look at. The local yard fascists lost their shit and got the town involved. The wording was something along the lines of all flower beds needed to be tilled displays, no wild unmaintained/non manicured stuff.
So what did this couple do? They plowed their entire yard, front and back, and put in a massive pumpkin patch. Then sued the local nuts who trespassed and destroyed their property.

The funny thing about the divorce is that she had the option to get out of the neighborhood but she instead chose to take the house from her husband.

Yeah and then they started vandalizing his property and stealing his mail and conspiring against him behind his back and - worst of all - calling in a news agency to try and demonize him.
Those neighbors kinda seem like assholes to me, I'm sure there's a lot more that wasn't said that got him to be this spiteful
