The amount of detail in these games will never cease to amaze me. They're like the evolution of Shenmue.
There being no loading screens is a super big plus to me. I'm still working through Yakuza 5, but god damn I want more already.
YOU CAN FIGHT IN A FUCKING CONVENIENCE STORE
oh god i love games with japanese environments even if its just a convenience store
Did they announce any plans for a PC port? Or did they maybe drop any hints about it?

If it sells well.
Can't wait to play it in 2019.

Will never happen.
Still more interested in Yakuza Zero in terms of story and setting but these games are a consistent benchmark. It's a shame western devs don't take much notice to the likes of this, we could use another streets of rage.
I was just gonna say "didn't Yakuza 5 just come out?" and then I realized that it's been out in Japan since fucking 2012. I did not realize it took this damn long for it to get a western release.
Is this the new Daredevil game?
I don't understand what the big deal is. Can someone fill me in? It just looks like a bbrawler game with pretty visuals and a regular destruction stuff.
because it's a yakuza game and it's cool as fuck.
I still don't understand.

Are you seriously judging a whole game based on a short video of a small section?
Of course not, I just don't understand why everyone is very excited over it. I want to be excited too. :(

Maybe because all Yakuza games are really good and this is a new one?
I still don't understand.
You can trash a convenience store and get away with it.

This is an unprecedented level of destruction, environment detail, and environment intractability in the Yakuza series. There hasn't previously been encounters inside of normal stores like this.

Educate yourself and Google the term "Yakuza franchise" and watch some videos / read some articles. Not to be rude but it is usually the best way to find more info on something, Yakuza is praised for its amazing attention of detail, combat and world (story is good as well). Its a good game imo basically
Why isn't anyone mentioning how bad the camera work is?
The turning seems unresponsive.
The camera has a weird offset that changes according to the angle it's at, which may look good outside combat but it's distracting and slightly disorienting during combat.
Furthermore, it seems to ignore destructibles and zooms in way too close, making you unable to see shit at times.
I mean yeah, it looks like a really fun game, but the camera needs major improvement.

The Yakuza games are story heavy games mostly following Kazuma Kiryu and his life as a Yakuza (in the Yakuza?). The thing that makes it unique is that it follows his (and the other protagonists') life including all the mundane things he can get up to.
You have a story filled with personal intrigue, and a lot of criminal activity. Along side that are various side stories of the local populous, and side activities and minigames that are weirdly detailed. For example, you can read the first issue of around 20 different manga in the convenience store, you can play Virtua Fighter in the arcade (as in, actually play Virtua Fighter in an in game arcade).
Yakuza 5 even has a taxi minigame which is practically the exact opposite of Crazy Taxi, where you have to drive a taxi according to the law, while talking to your customer to make sure they have a good trip. Your paint job also affects how people react to the trip.
Yakuza is like Shenmue, except it is simultaneously much larger than Shenmue and much more detailed, while also having a fighting system that isn't just QTEs.
is it weird it reminded me of the original dead rising...
just the look and feel of the game

Maybe you could care to explain why they are excellent games? I want to join the hype train, too.
Please tell me this is going to be localized. Currently playing Yakuza 3 for the first time and loving it, this looks goddamn amazing.

I really hate how they removed the unique animations for revelations in Yakuza 5, I really miss seeing Saejima pull a block of wood out of the fucking ether and go ham on it.
