Notch, the creator of Minecraft might give monsters the ability to dig one day.
Theres been so much controversy over this on the Minecraft forums that I felt I needed to create a video simulating a scenario that could possibly happen to you. Viewer discretion is advised.

Oh god I actually jumped a little.
Also that was the best Minecraft video I've ever seen.
It is also my first. Thanks :)
I actually almost spilled coffee all over my desk, luckily the cup was half empty.
Well done, great video.
Perfect
He should add it in, just make it toggleable.

luckily the cup was half empty.

Or was it half full? :c00lbert:
That texture pack, I need it
Oh god, I actually jumped.
Hah that was amazing. Great video. Nice house too, by the way.
Maybe only certain mobs can dig and that there are some mob-proof material.
OP AWESOME WORK. That shit fucking startled me hands down.
That actually scared me...
Notch needs to make mobs that are like pests, like little moles that dig randomly and sometimes dig into your house. Got a mole infestation? Flush em out with a bucket of water.
This reminds me of amnesia.
What is the UI mod you are using, it looks really well made.
Ha ha I actually jumped!
Great job!
I was almost expecting the Amnesia ringing noise.
Scared the shit out of me.
I hate when I play a quiet game and all of the sudden music like that would start playing. Except I've never played this game before so that music is probably just edited in, but still it's scary as hell.
Well, I can see some advantages to it actually. Wood is easy to get and fragile, and materials that need mining are tougher. Ergo, people will stop building wooden houses as soon as the early phase ends, creating a sense of progression. From caves to wooden houses, to reinforced structures later on in the session. Bit like playing Age of Empires, really.
The only REAL safe house is one with an obsidian foundation (and possibly inside the walls), or ofcourse bedrock (which is not accessible to most people anyway).
I'm wondering how notch will handle the system for this, in a way that doesn't make the game a 'repair your house all the time' simulator.
I read something about only breaking glass and the obvious points where they should go to, like a door not your wall.
edit
then again he promised dragons maybe they'll burn your shit
prob only in hell zone
you know unless it follows you out
if this happened, he would need to make it toggleable. i dont want creepers digging into my house to blow me up.
That texture pack, I need it
