Battlefront is probably the only dice game that plays nothing like it's gameplay trailers.
The game looks good but plays like an iphone game.

How the hell would you play this on an iPhone.

He says it plays like an iphone game and hes right

I'm saying it plays like an iphone game, not that it can be played on an iphone; it's hilariously casual and lacks any sort of real depth in gameplay. I've played iphone FPS' that have more advanced level gameplay than the new battlefront does.

So did the previous two, didn't they? I never was too fond of Battlefront in the first place, it was just the kind of game you play with your friends without really thinking about what you're doing. Nothing as deep as the Jedi Knight series for instance.
map doesn't look that interesting to me anyways so i'm fine waiting as a standard edition customer non-preorderer

Thats just a legal thing telling you that you need the base game.
Any news on what the "new game mode" will be?

uh uh dude, fuck no.
They were slightly more casualized Battlefield games with a Star Wars skin, yeah, but god damn it they at least had classes and more than a handfull of weapons and a decent selection of ground vehicles and squads and FUCKING VOICE CHAT.
Dices battlefront has-- shooting.
I mean, I've never heard it more aptly described. It's a fucking mobile shooter. Actually, no. I've played mobile shooters that are WAY more robust as games than Battlefront 2015.

Speaking of which, we need a modern Jedi Academy game. That game was absolutely fantastic and the third party mods (like Lugormod) made it even better.
Imagine the attention to detail and gameplay featured in Jedi Academy on a much more modern engine with modding support...
A modern Jedi Knight/Academy under EA would end up as a disaster.

Hey now, I didn't say under EA. Just modern engine.
That prequel music makes me wish it had clone troopers in it from episode III.
Could u imagine the custom armor sets you could get between arc troopers and the red coruscant guard armor?
you see all these huge ships in the sky and it looks cool, until you realize they're outside of the map and theres no space battles or anything like that.

I thought I recall reading somewhere that ships larger than capital ships (Capital ship referring to things like the Star Destroyer) couldn't go down into the atmosphere because their absurd length would cause them to be ripped apart and fall from the sky. I can't find it now though

It's honestly not JUST about how casual the game is, it's about game depth. And yes, BF-EA is more casual than Battlefront 2 is.
Battlefront 2 had more than 4 maps on release, more than 6 playable hero characters, gave you the ability to choose spawns, space battles, class systems with game changing rolls, and far far far more vehicles than the current Battlefront has. It also had an excellent campaign, excellent AI battles, and a fucking awesome conquest mode. I could write a college level thesis on why BF-EA's decade old predecessor is a far superior game in every regard (gameplay wise).
It honestly feel like this game was rushed, like it was the accidental byproduct of someone throwing an Empire strikes back VHS in with a fps made by gameloft into a blender.
Don't get me wrong, it looks like a Star Wars game should and it's the closest thing I've ever seen to properly replicating the beginning of Episode V. It's immersive as hell, but the immersion is almost instantly broken when someone uses a HOMING ROCKET THAT LOCKS ONTO TO INFANTRY WITH NO MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM DISTANCE REQUIRED, or Boba Fett goes 115-0 because theres no time limit to heroes.

This is pretty much my response when people talk about the stuff happening in the skybox.
"You know whats cooler than watching an ISD get taken down? Actually doing it yourself in a space battle"

That music caught me off guard.
Such a brilliant soundtrack.
Can't wait to get this game [sp]in maybe two or so years for dirt cheap after the community for it has probably died off[/sp]

Xbone player here, you literally can't get a full game in either 40 player game mode anymore. Console community is already mostly gone.

Oh god, really? How does it run on xbone even?

It's choppier than an axe murderer during spring break.

I get a full server nearly everytime? I'm in the UK though

Yes because it's not like Mass Effect is critically acclaimed or anything.

hey remember when Bioware made the ending for ME3 a "pick your favorite color" choice that didn't take into account any decisions made across 3 games?
ME1 and ME2 are critically acclaimed, but ME3 is widely regarded as garbage.

A lot of ME3 was awesome honestly; but the last 5% of the game was what killed me.
The Citadel DLC helped curb the pain of the ending and was honestly some of my favorite fan service in gaming

Modern-day Bioware needs to stay away from anything Star Wars
It would be an unmitigated disaster

ME3 was fantastic though, and people know it, the last 10 minutes were just shit. And even then people think it was shit for all the wrong reasons.
