despite keanu's questionable character acting career, i've always been fond of him as a martial artist and stuntman
good to see that he's still rolling into it for being 52 years old
It must be so fun working on set with a film like this
Man I'm hyped for this movie

I've always liked him as an actor even when some of his work wasn't that great but to me it seems like he works hard. But he is someone who I'll continue to support because I like him as a person.
I'm glad he is making more movies specially John Wick because these movies are badass.
Keanu Reeves, in my opinion, is the best action actor in the field.
How can you honestly dislike Keanu Reeves
AHHHH February 10th, so close! I think this is the first movie I'll ever see in theaters on opening day.

Dudes been through hell and back, too with his personal life.

Nothing alike.

Yeah.. I suppose John Wick is a lot more realistic in ways that it can actually be done.
Although I find the whole holding the pistol on a slant kind of odd.

its a legitimate gun fighting stance

It's very useful for CQB, and being in tight positions such as vehicles. It's a legit stance which I personally find very comfortable, unless it's far range shooting. The way you can bend your arms and still shoot, makes you able to fire your side-arm in many angles and positions, including how you bend your body for room-clearing. While most other stances locks the sidearm in more static movements (which is why weaver and isosceles benefits long range).

That technique is called center axis relock and is meant for extremely close quarters shooting.

Most people know it from either John Wick or Splinter Cell Conviction/Blacklist

Huh. I always thought something like this was more widely used;

I suppose it's being adopted through special forces training handed down to lower ranks? Or am I an idiot?
The slanted pistol, I mean. I know above is standard among police(a lot of videos have their stances like pic above). Only places I've seen this slanted position was in movies/video games. Not that I mind, it's a pretty nifty stance, but I'm just wondering about the practicality of it.

from what i've heard/seen, C.A.R stance is very useful for a few situations, namely where your target is within reach of your weapon(can knock it out of your hands, can redirect fire with an item such as a baton), or when you have extremely limited reach. it doesn't provide anywhere near the same level of accuracy & control as the standard posture, but you can react to threats a lot faster in the vicinity with C.A.R since repositioning your weapon is much faster.
CAR is also about shooting without body armor. Government agencies (including military) tend to teach isosceles or at least weaver because they present more of a strike face for armor, you don't want your torso to be turned sideways and leave areas not covered exposed. CAR is designed to keep your torso turned to the side and your arms tucked in close, presenting as small a target as possible, preferable when you aren't armored and a shot anywhere is gonna be a bad day.
Because of this, it has no use in the military, police forces, etc. It is, however, useful for private security and basic armed security, guys who aren't wearing ceramic plates or kevlar.

There's no way that man is 52, he's definitely immortal.
These videos of Keanu training just make me believe that he actually is John Wick. The fact that he does his own stunts in these movies and how hardcore these movies are... just... goddamn.
Honestly, it'd be pretty sweet to see some video of him on the street in an attempted robbery pulling John Wick shit, because I wouldn't put it past him to kick some fuckin' ass. He's one of the few actors that doesn't seem like just an "actor".

I'm surprised there hasn't been a movie like that yet. An action movie about an actor that appears in a lot of action movies and always trains for them and does his own stunts and shit who gets put in a situation where his life is in danger and he has to use all those skills to get out of it.

Not really counting the movie here, but Johnny Cage fits that description in MK.
Always thought it was cool that he's based on Jean-Claude Van Damme (who I loved solely because of Blood Sport as a kid).

Drive
How can you honestly dislike Keanu Reeves
I don't see why anyone would. 47 Ronin was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen but Keanu made it awesome. All the stunts and action scenes with him in that movie were great.

What he just described is absolutely nothing like Drive.

Absolutely nothing? Really? Maybe you don't remember the movie that well but it's technically exactly like Drive. It's just not the main crux of the story.
