Huge system shock vibe from it. I hope they take away the enemy health bars, looks like it clutters the hud
My only real criticism at the moment is that the enemies that we've seen are pretty boring; variously sized black blobs.
This gives me major flashbacks to the original trailer for that ill-fated XCOM shooter.
I hate headcrab enemies in shooters. Harder to hit, and killing them with anything other than melee just feels like a waste.
Where is my space bounty hunter shooter that I didn't get because Bethesda tried to push the studio into selling themselves to Bethesda?
Where is my space bounty hunter shooter that I didn't get because Bethesda tried to push the studio into selling themselves to Bethesda?
you mean where is your conceptually doomed game that would have ended up being a segmented map with 3 planets and a system similar to the radiant quests everyone hated in recent bethesda games, because nothing that was on paper for the original prey 2 resembled anything like a manageable video game concept?
i'm guessing the mimics are only one type of enemy out of several [editline]1st December 2016[/editline] i really like the look of the guns in this game
human head was already in the hands of zenimax when prey 2 was starting development, if they only came up with a cgi trailer in 2 years of development, then any reasonable company would cut funding [editline]2nd December 2016[/editline] this current game is being developed by a studio with an actual track record, and chris avellone writing it [editline]2nd December 2016[/editline] and there is actual gameplay lmao
the prey 2 concept would have been great if it could have been pulled off, but it is dead and it shouldn't color your perspective of this game. so far, this is looking pretty great

This has nothing to do with my precious Pray.
man i really like everything i see about this game, gameplay and aesthetically speaking
Then why is this game called Pray instead of being a new IP? This has nothing to do with my precious Pray.
avellone has stated that they are in the same universe
I still want my fucking space bounty hunter game that was almost finished before Bethesda pulled the plug. Supposedly the code is still lying around in a computer at Human Head in a perfectly playable state that will never be released because Bethesda is a shitty company.
there was gameplay for prey 2 and they were pretty far along in development lmao
clearly an unscripted, freeform experience that does not get boring after the first three missions
there was gameplay for prey 2 and they were pretty far along in development lmao
apparently that vertical slice wasn't functional beyond the gameplay seen Pure speculation on my part Prey 2 was likely a game that suffered from troubled development on both sides from the devs and producers [editline]1st December 2016[/editline]
It's nice to know that you got the privileged to play Pray 2 to experience and tell us that.
Honestly, if you're going to say Humanhead was the one game studio capable of creating a fully functional vertical slice, a non "Bullshot" trailer, than power to you, but I'm very, very skeptical of that.
there was gameplay for prey 2 and they were pretty far along in development lmao
afaik the demo we saw at promos was a vertical slice made specifically to promote the game. The game was not even near a complete state iirc.
One of these days we'll have a thread that doesn't immediately devolve into arguing over Prey 2 and actually talking about the game. Might be a bit far off. I wish they hadn't called it Prey, because then there wouldn't be a single complaint about the game. Or maybe there would be, but nobody has said it yet because they're too busy going on and on about a cancelled game instead of moving on.
It's quite obvious that they've taken a lot from system shock, and are aware that. In the first loading screen we see it references an item called "The Looking Glass", which as you can then understand is a direct reference to Looking Glass Studios who made System Shock 1 & 2.
Where is my space bounty hunter shooter that I didn't get because Bethesda tried to push the studio into selling themselves to Bethesda?
It was pulled because Bethesda was releasing alot of shitty shovelware games, and they didn't possibly release another one. It pisses me off to see all this dumb economically suicidal conspiracy bullshit that was made up by some upset fans.
According to creative director Raphael Colantonio, the station will be completely continuous rather than having separate levels or missions, at times requiring the player to return to areas they previously explored. The player will also be able to move around the outside of the station in zero gravity and find shortcuts connecting parts of the station.
that sounds an awful lot like metroid prime, and what I saw of using abilities to traverse unreachable areas with your default set up kind of make me sort of excited I'll wait till its out to see if it succeeds at what it's doing but man, am I fuckin interested.
deviled avocado here: Prey 2 would be a great move, but was conceptually flawed as a game. [editline]2nd December 2016[/editline] I'm loving the idea that not even the fucking trashcan is without suspicion.

I don't know if this is the Prey I wanted but it is for sure a game that I want.

I mean it looks fun and the visuals are pretty good, but I have no idea what connections this game has to the PREY name
