So while I suffered through the MTV Movie Awards with Adam DeVine and Amy Schumer (Bleh) for supposed movie footage from the new TF5 movie, it comes on at the last commercial break. Was it worth it? Ehhh it doesn't show much aside from [sp]Revealing Hot Rod and Sir Anthony Hopkins chewing the scene.[/sp] The next day the final segment of "Secret History" promotional is revealed to be a TV Spot of Hopkin's character Sir Edward Burton [sp]Witwiccen[/sp] giving a small exposition and scenes that completely contradicts the plot from all the way back from the first movie. Remember when the reason they came to Earth was for the Allspark and Megatron was frozen in ice since the Ice Age? Yeah I have no idea when all this happened, but it'd better have some "NEW" and cool scenes apart of the last four movies. The only cool thing from this movie is probably that Mark V transformer.
I don't feel like it completely retcons the background from other films. I mean, we know they were there back when dinosaurs were around, then when early man was around, then Megatron sought the Allspark and Sentinel Prime sought to create a portal between Cybertron and Earth. The Autobots scour the planet looking for leads on the Allspark to repair their dying world. Maybe it's because they've jumped all over the place, but perhaps the whole picture does make sense, if not tenuously.

I think that's the phrase I'm looking for; it feels disjointed. The background and the lore for the films seems to jump around a lot from the dinosaurs (period not stated in TF4), the Ice Age(TF1), the construction of the pyramids/ Sun harvestor(TF2), and then the moon landing/Ark crash (TF3). It all jumps between eras so much I can't follow unlike say Star Wars or even Lord of the Rings. Since when did Bayformers become Dark Souls?
