Just when I saw the 1999 dagestan massacre (6 chechen soldiers that surrendered got beheaded slowly and painfuly brutally) and I am about to forget about it, I see this.
Good to see videos of less covered wars, I run with a Russian reenactment group and a couple of us go Chechen Wars so it's always interesting for me to see wars like this brought up
yes, yes, i'm quite jealous of you're kit, i'm an airsoft thread lurker
The part where the kid found his dead sister was really sad :(
I'm amazed how well Grozny recovered from the war

Most of it was pretty sad in my opinion, since it just made everything seem like a clusterfuck and blow shit up attitude where they just blow shit up regardless of whoever
This might be an incorrect view but the Russian forces always seem very disorganized and clusterfuckish. For a modern army it just doesn't look right.
To any Russian facepunchers:
What is the perceived general opinion of the Russian public regarding the Chechen War?

At the time of the Chechen War (especially the 1st one) they were. The Soviets had collapsed only a few years ago, recession, not very well trained conscription, some generals who didn't really care, etc
