Ubisoft is really going hard at the promo thing eh?

Eh, honestly I don't care that they're trying to push Syndicate like this. It either means that they genuinely made a good game and they're trying to market it as such, or they simply want to make it seem like that.
Either way, as long as we keep getting neat videos like this one, I don't mind.
Pretty cool build.

Look at some gameplay videos, it honestly looks like a massive turd. I don't understand why Ubisoft continues to model cities in great detail, and then just shit on them.*
*Hyperbolic statements may be contained in this post, but the author does think they hold some merit.
Edit: Great build as always, though.

After darn shame which was Unity, i do not expect anything at all from Ubisoft anymore.

Edwin sounds like a retard, does he have more ignorant and economically unaware quotes?

tbh the more marketing the game has, I find that the more shit it is
they know the game sucks so they're pushing for sales
I won't state an absolute however. More marketing just means it has a far greater chance of being a terrible game. It doesn't mean it IS a bad game, though.
If a game is REALLY successful without marketing, it's a sign it's a solid game most of the time.

How many adverts for Undertale did you see before you bought it? lol
That's because Undertales marketing came from LP'ers and the like. Not the first time devs decide to abandon the marketing department, knowing that the games interesting nature will make it very attractive to people that live off playing games.
How many adverts for Undertale did you see before you bought it? lol
A shit load of indie games get an unreal amount of native advertising, intentional or not, through let's play channels on Youtube.
So I guess it depends on how many let's play channels a person who buys Undertale is following at that point in time really.
There's a reason native advertising has taken off as much as it has, it allows a company to advertise without the person consuming the advert noticing or caring as much. And it's quite insidious for that reason alone, adverts have been snuck into major news articles in big papers without people picking up on it because the article is written as if it was actually news despite doing nothing but blowing the advertised products dick so hard it rocketed to the centre of the planet.
The thing about Assassins Creed is, they're not bad games. Hell, they're fucking amazing games; it's just that we're exposed to 3 new sequels every year at this point. It's the most overly saturated AAA series I've ever seen.
No breaks at all to recoup; think about the next game. They just pick location, pick faction of people to resemble Assassins, pick faction to resemble Templars
They churn these out like butter on Bean Day
I've always quite like the Assasins' Creed builds these guys throw up. The series has some genuinely neat designs for concealed weapons, and seeing actually functional versions of them is pretty cool. Also gives Illya a chance to show off with some new technique that he probably mastered overnight for the build or something (whilst wearing a hat).
Why don't they make a gun?
Why don't they make a gun?
Probably because not only can guns be complex and difficult to engineer and manufacture, they probably require lots of expensive, difficult-to-acquire licences to do so.
Quality of the game series aside, that's a super nice build.
With laws and licensing the way it is we will most likely always avoid gun builds.
Hexpunk has it figured out. Ilya really does push himself hard to make sure there is something new he hasn't done before in most every build. Honestly the entire team does really. So many of these could be simple but we add stuff we aren't sure about all the time to keep it interesting.

I thought in America you could build pretty much whatever firearm you wanted without a licence as long as it was for personal use and wasn't full-auto?

While I agree with you that they aren't bad games, I really wouldn't say that they are amazing games either - they are way too shallow for that (combat anyone?). The oversaturation doesn't help with that either.

You've hit the nail on the head there. Over-saturation leaves little room for innovation. Wasn't there a thing recently that Ubisoft has like 1/3 control over the recent Open World game market or something?

Not only do they follow the same formula, the sequels are often minor upgrades eg Far Cry 3/4 or most of the AC series.

No intention to demean the input of everyone else in the team there obviously, you're all pretty good at finding new ways to do things for these builds that are genuinely interesting to understand the basics of why they work.
Honestly that's part of why I watch the channel, the end results are usually the coolest fucking thing, but the processes are really quite fun to watch.
