Military Surplus stores are seriously crazy fun. Especially big ones like that. You can spend an hour or two in a small one just looking at all the little odds and ends they have. But a massive one like that? Its a thing you need all day for. I'm gonna be seeing their Mythbusters Live show on Friday.
makes me wanna hit up Old Sarge's in my town.
Watching people explore these kinds of large specialty stores like this one or that huge soda warehouse always makes me jealous of people living in large countries: Here in Norway the population density is simply too low for them to survive.

The MSS we have here is in buffalo, and EVERYTHING is in cotten and is completely unwashed, impossible to fine something that fits, everything is terribly used and feels wrong, but also super cheap.

The only remaining ones I know of are one that is just for clothes and such, and the other is a glorified junk shop.

Military surplus stores are usually kinda tucked away.
I love military surplus stores, bought a german army parka from one a few years ago and it's the best winter jacket I've ever owned.
Was that a chieftain tank? my trousers can't take it, I want to sit in it now.
I work at a Science and Surplus store and he comes in every few months to just look around at stuff.
Watching those two swoon over the Crossdraw vest and talk about how solid it is and how many clips it could hold was kinda embarrassing. Those vests were originally intended for pilots to wear, they're super saggy, dumb looking and the only market for them is literally paintballers, children and adults who don't know anything about tactical gear like armored truck guards.
We don't have mil surplus stores in our country. Guess that's why everybody is so depressed here all the time.

I wish Adam Savage was my father

I'm pretty sure they've had some sales around Gardemoen (Sessvollmoen I think. At least around Jessheim) Could check out these if you want to know more locations: http://www.fmu.no/ https://www.forsvarsbrukt.no/ In addition, there's a store around Jessheim that sells different things. Mostly clothing, so it's not a place you go for looking at stuff.

I read "explodes" instead of "explores" and thought he'd had an accident :v:

Surplus stores are to me like Starbucks is to hipsters. If I come across one you bet I'm going in and then spending hours browsing.
Probably stores like that in the big cities. Military surplus stores are usually kinda tucked away.
Especially the really good ones. When I was in NYC I came across a place called Kaufman's Surplus, and although it's mostly clothing, there's so much stuff to go through. It's a small spot so the downside is that it's a bit messy, but if you go in knowing what you're looking for, it'll mostly likely be found since there's more storage in the back which the employees will gladly go through, and they know their stuff too. They were able to find a genuine OG-107 shirt (sadly it was a size too small), but I found alternatives. I think the best part about the store is the owner though, of course we had the same interest in militaria so the whole time I was there I was talking to him and he'd quiz me on things, give me a little history of them and show me some related items that were hidden away. I actually went a second time before I left to go back home and picked up a few other things I was eyeing, probably one of my most worthwhile trips to a store. I found another place called Church Street Surplus but it was further down in the city so I didn't bother, but it looked really promising. All I can say to anyone here who's planning on visiting NYC in the future, definitely stop by Kaufman's. I've been aching to go again, it truly is a gem.

I miss the old military surplus store around here. Used to be an ENORMOUS one about and hour from here. Like the one in the video sans the tanks. Got me a sturdy ass trench-shovel as a kid, and used it all through my time with the Boy Scouts all the way up to Eagle Scout. It's gone though. Closed up a quite few years back. Only "military surplus" stores there now just sell shitty souvenirs with army logos on them...
I remember Adam mentioned on the first behind the scenes of Mythbusters some surplus/junk shop in the valley but I could never remember what it was. I thought of emailing and asking but I doubt he'd remember too. :(
We have a surplus store not far from here. When I was a kid in the 90s we would stop up there about once a year or so. They sell a lot of odds and ends including parts for vehicles, mowers, etc. So my dad would go to fix his mower with some hard to find part that you could only find there then I would get to explore the military stuff. The stuff they had in the 90s was super cool. All sorts of awesome stuff. Sadly, now, they do not get much in the way of new stuff. It's mostly stuff that has been there since I was a kid that no one wants...and the new molle tactical crowd crap. The last time I saw anything cool was around 2002 when they brought in some cool Euro surplus stuff. The moment it sold out they never resupplied... Kind of sad. I spoke with a guy a couple years ago that works there. He says in their upstairs storage room they have several crates upon crates of WW2, Korean, Vietnam, and Cold War era stuff that has been sitting there. He said they were talking about popping the crates open and selling the stuff. I was there earlier this year and they have yet to do that. I almost want to talk to them and ask if I can get a look myself and just offer up prices on cool shit I find.
I wish there was a surplus store near here, they are so cool.
I love going to the Army Surplus over here. Even though it's pretty small, they have a lot of cool stuff there. I got me an M65 field jacket and an ALICE pack for a good price.
I love military surplus stores, bought a german army parka from one a few years ago and it's the best winter jacket I've ever owned.
yeah those flecktarn parkas look sweet, used to use it a lot for airsofting

As for the other person i believe his name is will i find him quite annoying through all the tested videos as he seems to just cut conversations and doesn't really know what he is talking about half the time and seems to just play along with adam either way.
i think me dad and my brother went to something like this to buy gear for airsoft we came home with 3 tactcool jackets
