That's kind of terrifying
Damnit now gun grabbers really CAN say that the gun decided to shoot someone of its own accord at least partially
This just seems like a rich man's toy. The kind of guy who wants to do long range shooting at the range once every 2 months without having to spend years in training and practicing to get results.
Doesn't the M1A1 Abrams tank have something similar to this kind of computer-assisted aiming? Kind of a "designate, angle-correct, fire" thing?
"Smell that, MURICA"
I'm not exactly comfortable with enabling everyone to kill things( or people ) at 900 meters.

...aimbot...

I can see this thing become much more used within this decade.
The music playing in the backround of this was badass.
I find it somewhat amusing how the guy at 1:48 considers this to be the tipping point regarding semi-automated killing machinery, and not drones.
future fps will get really boring
I find it somewhat amusing how the guy at 1:48 considers this to be the tipping point regarding semi-automated killing machinery, and not drones.
I could imagine some nutter buying this to enact revenge on their ex one day. A drone not so much.
"Smell that? America"
Vice and Vice related documentaries are always great.
I can see this thing become much more used within this decade.
I'm presuming it will be made smaller for ARs.
I don't mean to suddenly go into speech mode; but think about how war will change once this technology becomes the standard in military's and consumer defense. Think about how FPS's will change, will they adopt the 'aimbot' system or keep the manual aim-then-shoot system. Kinda crazy
Guns don't kill people, people who use guns kill p- Oh. Oh, I guess guns do kill people now. Damn it.
Guns don't kill people, people who use guns kill p- Oh. Oh, I guess guns do kill people now. Damn it.
No they don't. You still need a person to pull the trigger.
This is some straight up sci-fi shit, both how it function and how the rifle is designed.
Or the gun of an army sniper, why would a sniper not get one?
Because like you saw in the video, the system does not compensate for wind speed, and won't fire until you put the reticle on the target. A sniper will fire when he and his spotter deem that he needs to fire, not when a computer says so. It's also electronics, and probably has a battery life. An actual sniper is going to sit in the same place for days on end. When their 30 second window to eliminate a target opens up, they don't want to have to worry about changing batteries or boot up times on that scope. The less complicated something is, the less likely is is to fail. [editline]25th September 2013[/editline]
Guns don't kill people, people who use guns kill p- Oh. Oh, I guess guns do kill people now. Damn it.
This is still leaps and bounds away from automated killing, this just made the process take a little less effort at range. You still need a human to use the rifle.
triggetbot in real life?
Really interesting video. Kinda funny to think how they made the UI to look game-like, as the trend has been the opposite.
