I wish there was a way to do this for one of my colleagues, he lost his arm 20 years ago right below the elbow so he has no wrist and his stump is a bit short so it's tough to fit anything for him. The robotic prosthetics are too heavy and uncomfortable so he is stuck with the ancient and impractical hook and cable design.

this is something i've been thinking about i know it sounds weird, but would it be a good idea to make something like that for your neck aswell or something so that you can have 3 hands?
A time in human history we're we'll be able to (soon-to-be) defeat crazy diseases like cancer/ebola/etc. Fix our physical limitations and over come them. And change our bodies to however we see fit. Its a wonderful time to be alive.
How is that arm worth 42000????? For fucks sake that's a nice, new medium level car!
How is that arm worth 42000????? For fucks sake that's a nice, new medium level car!
A lot of very expensive tech packed into a small area. Also it's a niche market so the markup will always be huge.
How is that arm worth 42000????? That's counting all the wealth that one amasses in an entire lifespan. Median net monthly wages don't go higher than 200$ for a lot of people in the world... that's why stuff like cheap but quality food, medicine and prosthesis are vital.
Its a pretty shitty comparison, when you take the material price of product 1, and then compare it against the full price of product 2. Its not like they din't spend a month, designing, testing and making that 3d printed prosthetic, and that wouldn't cost a butload of money in the real world. I am sure its still cheaper regardless, but its a silly comparison.
Thats crazy how fast that hand can flex on the 3d printed hand

Especially because of 3d printing and everything making materials far easier to obtain/make
He's going to be placing mini sentries in no time. But seriously, this is really cool.
i cant wait for the new muscle like designed prosthetics that look exactly like the ones from deus ex by being able to flex or become soft when needed.
That's nice, hoped to see the prosthetic arm in more action though.
How is that arm worth 42000????? For fucks sake that's a nice, new medium level car!
My fathers prosthetic legs cost about 170 thousand euro. Every 5 years. Although to be fair they're basically the best you can get
