oh it's literally just a box and manual. no game hahahaha. and the manual doesnt fit in the box

just double checked. i donated $60 to receive some half-assed, unassembled cardboard
had i known it wasnt a copy of the actual game...
we thought there was no more amusement that this game could provide
we were wrong

I unironically feel like people would be better off imagining the game themselves than having the game in this case
and also having their money back. All of it.
nothing is better than MNo9

Didn't Arin Hanson (A megaman superfan) also dump a lot into MN9?
Well to be fair, back then the concepts of MN9 seemed really interesting and I haven't even played Megaman.
Very unfortunate that the end product ended up being a bunch of shit.
A physical game copy doesn't even come with the fucking thing. And the manual doesn't fit in the box.
What a shit-show of a kickstarter.
I saw the package in the bin at the start and was expecting a zoom over to it but nope that was way better.
Well that's just shitty...
Shit like this doesn't surprise me one fucking bit. I've completely given up on anything Kickstarter related.
Kickstarter is for idiots.

Shovel Knight, Wasteland 2, Dream fall Chapters, FTL, Banner Saga, Hyperlight Drifter, Darkest Dungeon, Superhot, I could go on

Kickstarter is a risk; it's more like an investment rather than a purchase. You might get shit like this, or you might get a really enjoyable game that couldn't have been made otherwise.
If I really like the idea of a kickstarter, I'm willing to risk a bit to see it made.
I still regret backing this game but i'm glad my name is not on the kickstarter credits even though I supplied it.

Other than Shovel Knight, everything I've backed has either never come out, or has been fucking terrible when it did. Never again.

That's more on you and the people you've put your money behind than kickstarter/crowdfunding as a concept.

Well I understand that but you only addressed one title among his many competent, high quality titles to come out of Kickstarter. Just because you've personally had bad experiences doesn't justify calling people who use Kickstarter idiots.

Kickstarter is like what Unity is to bad games as well.
Some good things come out of Kickstarter. So do a lot of really bad things.
Nice nails.
also there's a manual that comes with it, and while the manual fits in the NES style box, it's the same manual for the famicom one he got, and uhhhh

Sounds like you have a problem with poor judgement of a dev's competence. That doesn't mean Kickstarter is worthless. There's a lot of excellent games that have come out of Kickstarter.

And it's used for a variety of things, not just games. The Pebble smatchwatch is a pretty good example.
I've backed a Kickstarter for giving previously untranslated comics an international release.
assembling the box provides more entertainment than the actual game
Great! When I get my Kickstarter items, I know where to place it: Straight in the trash.
Shovel Knight, Wasteland 2, Dream fall Chapters, FTL, Banner Saga, Hyperlight Drifter, Darkest Dungeon, Superhot, I could go on
Freedom Planet, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, Yooka-Laylee (Better AND playable than Mighty No. 9 thats for sure) A Hat in Time (Looks very promising) to name a few others.
Kickstarter is a mixed blessing.
It's allowed me to support awesome things, while I've also been burned by supporting the kickstarter of a website that my story's on.
They were supposed to be opening the stories on their website to more and more libraries, but I've seen absolutely no proof of any progress. Their website is slow and annoying, nothing but their blog has been updated for a year or so, and I want off Mr. Bone's Wild Ride.

undertale was a kickstarter project too

That's very rude of you, you didn't even give him enough time to move the goalposts.

this is the next evolution of the funko pop, funko pop boxes.
undertale was a kickstarter project too
As well as Hollow Knight and LISA: The Painful.
undertale was a kickstarter project too
I keep forgetting Undertale was kickstarted. I actually never knew about the game until it got released and people were talking about it like wildfire.
I didn´t know much about this kickstarter (not a huge Megaman fan myself), only that it was bad. Decided to do some research about it and...just wow. What a trainwreck.
