As cool as it would be to be a superhero, it just doesn't work in real life. Criminals don't work the way they do in fiction.
The idea that I can just run out now and put on a costume, save the world and be home in time for tea is absurd. It's admirable that these people want to go out and fight crime but why don't they just join the police instead? Wouldn't that be the smartest thing to do?
His costume is awesome though.

How about he join the police and wear a costume? Or how about the whole police force just get costumes so now it kind of looks like super heroes irl.

It's about sending a message that you're not completely powerless as a civilian. Imagine if everyone were like him. The reason for why it's dangerous is that criminals don't like anyone standing up, but if everyone did it would be the rule and not the exception.

I'm sure they would if they all looked like riot cops.
The problem would then be them abusing power, however.
He would be more badass if he didn't show himself in public, only at night sneaking around.

I think shooting tranq darts at people would be pretty illegal. It wouldn't really fly as self defense either because of the way he actively gets himself involved.
