Does the devkit have that wrap-around screen that goes to the edge of your peripheral vision?
Does the devkit have that wrap-around screen that goes to the edge of your peripheral vision?
Yes, but it's not a wrap around screen- there's lenses which warp the screen around your vision rather than the screen actually being shaped like that. It's why it looks so odd ingame, it's to compensate for the distortion. Edit: I want them to show someone who actually plays fps games regularly playing this. Everyone complains about mouse/keyboard being hard but most people don't look at their keyboard while playing and auto centre their mouse without thinking...
Is Oculus Rift 3D?
Is Oculus Rift 3D?
It would be useless otherwise, wouldn't it?
looks way too complicated but cool as fuck combine it with this https://www.leapmotion.com/ and 4 speaker headphones that would be just too amazing I mean holy shit like really could that get any cooler
I was hoping to see a cockpit style were the HUD and crosshair are fixed in front of the character's body, but I didn't see that in the video.
Wow these guys were so informative that I subscribed to their channel.

I'm really looking forward for vehicle-based games to implement this thing. Combat flight simulators, racing games, that kind of thing, because it seems like a much better application than FPS games. And if the lag isn't terrible, I imagine direct-vision-crosshair-control would be amazing for sniping.
13:00
That is just plain awesome.
13:00
HUD is done right, but aiming is still done with the head. I want both to be tied to the mouse.
HUD is done right, but aiming is still done with the head. If only it were that, but you can still move your head.
17:28 is that a wedding ring notification thing?
Is there footage of someone actually playing a regular game with it and saying what he thinks? It looks kicking rad, but does it actually work?

When they do the side by side, full screen it and cross your eyes until both images form into one in the center. 3D!
When they do the side by side, full screen it and cross your eyes until both images form into one in the center. 3D!
it's flipped though and looks weird.
Wow, I didn't know they actually added full body awareness and the free-aim for Oculus Rift stuff, that's cool as fuck.
hopefully it isn't too heavy so you can look around quickly
I dunno what it is but I feel like I'm going to be creeped out by TF2 characters walking around with realistic head movements. Imagine on of them turning towards you to look you in the eye and knowing that there's somebody on the other end doing exactly the same thing. Brr.
I'd give my left nut for Oculus Rift fully optimized on Arma 3.
I like that Valve moved third-person cam to the character's head, so you can free-look. That's nice. I did expect the simple first person but with Oculus support. I wonder if your character's head moves ingame from other players' perspective.
I can't wait to wear this in my swivel chair and re-enact the exorcist as pyro
Nah just take it off and spin it around.
Playing mirrors edge with this would be rad
I'd give my left nut for Oculus Rift fully optimized on Arma 3.
Shacktac and friends will be on it like a fly on shit.
My dream game for the Oculus Rift would probably have to be something that uses either the Wii nunchucks or the razer hydra so that both controllers represent your character's hands as you're holding something like 2 pistols for a regular FPS or a pistol and a flashlight for some survival horror thing.
Playing mirrors edge with this would be rad
You would probably vomit. Your left eye would get the right eye view and vice versa.
