Well, they are trained for shit like this, but yeah, it did sound hilarious
Despite the unfortunate event, i'm glad that idiot didn't hurt anyone else.
Wonder what would've happened if the cop just bumped him with the front of his car instead.

There'd be a significant difference between ramming someone who is carrying a knife and someone who is carrying a rifle. In the OP's video, there seems to be a lot of empty room that'd allow for the officer to swerve up onto the curb and knock the suspect down (and possibly cause the knife to fall out of his possession). There aren't many obstacles, and for the most part, it seems a lot wiser and safer than pulling up directly beside the knife-wielding suspect with the door wide open.
Also, according to the video description, the rifle-toting suspect's life was saved thanks to being rammed.
Wonder what would've happened if the cop just bumped him with the front of his car instead.
Yeah, if only the mentally ill person had his knifed knocked away he would of gone back to his senses and complied.
/sarcasm

/sarcasm
Or be able to be restrained because he's been made less stabby?

Oh boy, I can't wait for the police brutality debate to start. Whos gonna win this time!

Technically you can blame skyguy for that, but for now i'm just not going to continue this debate. I shouldn't of added to it, I already know how internet debates end.
The police officer defineitly did nothing wrong. Clear and cut self defense.
I'm impressed with his ability to drive a car and safely wield a loaded firearm at the same time, props to the Officer.
I feel real bad for him though, that's the kind of incident that's gonna be replaying in his mind till the day he dies.

Cool as a cucumber, christ. According to the service stripes on his sleeve he could be up to a 15 yr veteran of the force depending on how their department does it. May have seen some crazy shit in his time.

They have to be. A guy who gets hysterical anytime someone gets hurt, or they have to hurt someone, isn't someone you want on a police force.

You don't really want to approach someone whose armed, even if they're incapacitated or under a car. You can't blame the cop for not taking risks.

I remember that guy. He was bought and fuckin' paid for. He went on a rampage of killings and was absolutely a threat to the public if left at large so they took the gloves off and made sure he wasn't going to get away
