So, much as I love the MGS series, somehow, I suspect porn mags and cardboard boxes wouldn't get Snake very far in modern day espionage. *Least Naked Snake had a box-tank.*
God, that was perfect.

Cardboard boxes actually work surprisingly well in real life. Me and one of my friends have tried it at our workplaces before. You'd be surprised how easily people ignore boxes, even if they obviously shouldn't be there. One time I was full-on standing up. My legs were showing underneath the box and still nobody noticed until I burst out of my hiding place. I even moved positions a few times.

What a weirdo, better ignore..."
Sounds like your workplace has some productivity problems.
I think every workspace does to some degree.
Sounds like your workplace has some productivity problems.
in almost every work environment I've ever been in, the crew reaches a point where they've finished the real tasks they needed to accomplish for the time period, have little besides busy work to finish for the time being, they'll always blow some steam off. It really doesn't matter what industry, what field, or the time constraints they're under. I've worked on film sets that have a lot of practical jokery despite being the highest stress, and highest time constraints I've experienced in any job. 18 hour days will do that to you. Warehouses, fabrication places, cabinetry, carpentry, construction, done them all and every job regardless of reasons why they shouldn't, always have these little expressions of steam blow off and humour. It helps many different places get through the day and they're(in my experiences) done when there isn't actually work to accomplish for the time being. However, with all that said, if I was in a managing position, I wouldn't publicly support them doing those types of things, though I wouldn't punish them heavily for it either.
I was not expecting this one to be as well received as it's been. Thank you all kindly!
Or it is a pizza box that works 4th dimensionally.
Excuse me?
Excuse me?
He probably means a TARDIS like pizza box. Fuckin christ that'd be so sick to have. A floating pizzabox spaceship. Kickstart it now.

Brilliant. So glad to see someone doing lowpoly PS2-style cutscene animation (Just wish I had free time to make more like this). Keep at it, also holy hell that voice acting!
it is a pizza box that works 4th dimensionally.
this is getting out of hand
So, much as I love the MGS series, somehow, I suspect porn mags and cardboard boxes wouldn't get Snake very far in modern day espionage.
Depends. What if you are infiltrating a place with lots of boxes?
Anywhere I can grab the models?
Some time back, I posted the static OBJ's of every single MPO+ model in the Metal Gear thread for modeling. If you can import generic.mesh and convert those to any format you see fit, however, I've been posting the rigged XNALara versions on my page for folks, since that's how I import them into Max. I recently released Python's boss level; the one in this video: http://dabiggiek.deviantart.com/art/Nuclear-Storage-Facility-Python-s-Boss-Level-502014724 And I should be able to get the Tech soldier up soon too, if folks want it. If you'd prefer to rig and export the models personally, I'll do a little digging and see if I can find a link to the static models for you.
Depends. What if you are infiltrating a place with lots of boxes?
No one in their life has ever needed to infiltrate UPS.
No one in their life has ever needed to infiltrate UPS.
Yeah but what if those fuckers decide to keep your real life man waifu statue instead of deliver it, and you need to take it?
If I remember correctly, if you hide in a cardboard box in the middle of a room, guards will get suspicious. Still funny though.
If I remember correctly, if you hide in a cardboard box in the middle of a room, guards will get suspicious. Still funny though.
They get suspicious if your hiding spot is in their patrol path so they're forced to stop and take a look. And in MGS3 boxes don't work outdoors in natural environments. [editline]29th December 2014[/editline]
No one in their life has ever needed to infiltrate UPS.
How would you know? Maybe they never got caught. Cardboard boxes probably have 200% camo index in UPS, even during movement.
How would you know? Maybe they never got caught. Cardboard boxes probably have 200% camo index in UPS, even during movement.
To use a line I cut from the short..."To quote Denzel, it's not about what you know...it's about what you can PROVE." And I cannot disprove this notion. Yet.
yes now make more. there so much more stuff like this in MGS.
Rest assured, I plan to. My next one is probably going to be about the whole, "Calling someone on Codec in the middle of a boss fight" deal, as that's probably gotta be a little weird. But if anyone else has any classic MGS nuggets, I'm all ears!
I've worked on film sets that have a lot of practical jokery despite being the highest stress, and highest time constraints I've experienced in any job. 18 hour days will do that to you.
Nearly every film set I've worked on has had that kind of vibe. Mostly the G&E peeps. I'd finish assisting in the assembling a dolly track for one shoot and by the time I'd finished, I had nine C-47's clamped onto my backside pocket like a tail of clothespins. Apparently it's a game Grip plays a lot; see how many you can clamp on someone until they notice. To be fair though, it WAS a 13 and a half hour shoot, so anything to kill time between assembling, right? Though, I've yet to see a single person hide in a box...

One of the electrics I worked with clipped the directors baseball cap. Luckily it was a TV show so the director wasn't a regular and even the exec producers weren't crazy about the guy so he got away with it. I've seen some of the grips clip people with alligator clips they're so good at that game.
