Shits crazy.
Are they at the bottom of the trench? I'd figure it'd be darker.
Are they at the bottom of the trench? I'd figure it'd be darker.
They are probably using lights.
Are they at the bottom of the trench? I'd figure it'd be darker.
They have a flashlight lol. But yeah, this stream is really interesting. They found a fish and weren't sure exactly what it was.

Is this an ROV or manned vehicle? Edit: ROV.
Fast shrimps
I thought lights didn't help at the bottom because there was too much shit floating around. I guess it's a good day then
arg for bioshock 3
rip stream when they find c'thulhu
look a sponge...
the way the ROV is controlled reminds me of the numpad thruster controls in gmod
"What's the dealio here?" Good to know that is the professional term. :v:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/kkArPEE.jpg?1[/t] They found a sponge with some anemones living on it. Looks like a damn alien.
How much expertise and casualness there is going on is awesome and then they go into details about anemones. I was sad they decided against taking it. Do they only have one sample chamber?
mmf that sea cucumber roundness
"Hey look! A new fish! " *uh yeah, thats a tripod fish.* "Where's its tripod?" *There appears to be no tripod* "So it's a tripod fish with no tripod?" *....yeah.* What the hell is the point of these names if they mean nothing.
I'm always hyped about these things.
Obligatory
Have they found anything new?
I would hypothesize that the round sediment aggregates are due to some kind of microorganism. Bacteria can form bio films which helps them survive in certain environments, which could conceivably exist between the particles in the aggregate.
This was interesting af to watch. How often do they do this?
Camera 2:
Put all 3 camera streams on my monitors. Super interesting to watch. Watching and listening to scientists trying to decipher what stuff is, is fascinating.
Just found this. Are they going back up now? [editline]3rd May 2016[/editline] FYI: Dr.Ballard's team does stuff like this fairly often, too: http://www.nautiluslive.org/
this is absolutely surreal imagine telling people, 100 years ago, that a century from their time you would be able to send a vessel to the deepest part of the ocean, record the images you see, transmit them to the surface so that people from the other side of the world can view them in real time.
what is that, what is that?! looked like anemones on a string.
Is the stream supposed to be all glitchy and laggy? Or is it just me?
Is the stream supposed to be all glitchy and laggy? Or is it just me?
reboot your reality. it's not just you.
Its on again.
