It looks like crap so far
Yeah, this just looks bad. I know some people are yearning to return to WWII, but this game looks pretty horrible right now. Yeah yeah yeah, it's pre-alpha, but the general groundwork with the hit markers and all that shit just screams generic and forgettable.
advanced technologies guys

Graphical wise this looks good, however.
god that motion blur is so shit. whats up with ue4 games and blur
i am very interested in world war II history and shit and really want a good world war II game but this isnt it
god that motion blur is so shit. whats up with ue4 games and blur
Eh i think its a default thing, its been about a year since i worked with UE4 though so i might be wrong.

The motion blur is trash, and the shaders look like they're from the early-2000s era of games like Escape from Butcher Bay and Doom 3. Regardless, that pretty much means all they have is assets plopped in an engine. The actual gameplay right now looks horrible, and that's the most important part. They seem to be focusing more on graphics than not making a boring game, which is a bad sign. I think it's easy to get caught up on kickstarter videos, especially when they have a good pitch. You have to keep in mind, not everyone can make a good game. Yeah, these devs have their hearts in the right place, but they cherry picked the footage to use in this and it was still very underwhelming. Passion does not equal skill, bad games can be developed by teams of people who care.
It looks like Call of Duty before it went all modern warfare, as in it hasn't made any progress on gameplay or graphics.

It's alpha or what ever so I'm not gonna rip it to shreds right now but i don't like the look of it so far.
Those sprinting animations are rediculous. What is it with modern shooters and running with the gun right in your face? It makes you look like a retard. But this is an alpha, so I'll hope for their sake that they fix it at some point.
I'm going to remain optimistic since it's alpha and CoD2 is up there with Quake and Unreal Tournament as one of my favorite multiplayer shooters, but the more I look at it, the more skeptical I feel about it.
If you wanna play a WW2 game play Red Orchestra 2. That game is good, this looks like trash.
I'm all for ww2 fps game, but do we really need a multiplayer only game?
I think Red Orchestra has been setting the new standard for what we expect from a WW2 FPS.
The ww2 call of duty/medal of honor audience didn't give a shit about the ww2 setting. They're off playing CoD or Battlefield. The audience that does care about a ww2 setting and atmosphere doesn't want an arcade-like experience. They want realism, squad tactics and vehicles.

Unlike non-ww2 shooters, you're forced to make a game centered around the same weapons, locations and factions because of history. Which contributes to how all ww2 shooters play the same.

WWII has a distinct feel which I just love. And while there are some "modern" WWII games out, RO2 is a fun game but it's a tad on the realistic side for me personally, and Heroes and Generals isn't terrible but it swings too far into the P2W area for my liking.
It's like most developers keep focusing on the wrong shit.
Therre's a couple other WWII games in development right now, that look better than this.
that was so cheesy
I am strange in that I like the look of a little bit of chromatic aberration in some video games, but holy shit why is there so much of it in a WW2 game?
It looks so bad, it's like one of those fake games they show characters playing on TV or movies.
RO did it first and better imo
Apparently all you need to do to be a spiritual successor to CoD2 is have some loosely bad WW2 themed assets ported into UE4? Man that'd be really bad if a game's gameplay had any bearing on itself though. Would take a bunch more effort to get the proper feel of the older CoD games if that was so.
I always think its funny when they advertise the developer as "growing up playing video games all their life" as if that will make them pro game creators. It doesnt, its just fluff.
