I remember when TB pointed it out and the fact that they were making advertising videos without actually stating they are advertising videos and despite being friends Simon attacked him on Twitter for no reason other than to be a dick despite everything TB said being completely true.
The entire Yogventures thing was a total and utter shit show.
Even before the fuckfest I thought the premise of an adventure game that the player builds themselves but can only play as Yogscast's Minecraft OC's was nothing short of ego-driven and was a major red flag from the get go.

The sjin thing is 100% made up. They are awful, awful rumors and spreading them just makes it worse.
They aren't bad people, stupid, sure, but they are genuinely trying their best. They got over ambitious [I]multiple [/I]times but had at least some interest at heart. I'm not saying all of them are good (simon is a shithead) but spreading rumors like that just because of failed ventures is just bad.

I agree with most of this but I would argue that while Simon's actions certainly have been unkind and malicious he does have a history of mental illness. It doesn't excuse it but I think it's more complicated than him just being a bad person completely.

At least Simon is a hell of a lot better after his Surgery, he took almost a year off to recover at home and came back when he is well. Also all the crap about Sjin is false and made up, the post by Minty was made because they got fired from the Yogs because they had to make cutbacks within the company and the rest of the posts were made up by Tumblr SJWs who don't like to look into anything or research

If I remember correctly, they swore as a part of their schtick. It's not as if they were just telling kids to go fuck themselves.
On one hand, seems like an odd thing to make center stage of your kids' game convention, but on the other hand, I'm pretty sure the Yogscast have always sworn. I'm not sure why Mojang would invite them and expect them not to be their usual selves.

I don't know the guy or watch their vids but it's pretty much hinted heavily that Simon has long term severe depression, and when i saw the messages going around (not that i went out looking for them) it looked like soemone having a complete and total breakdown.
Their recent content has been like 'Top Gear - Lite' and everyone likes a bit of Top Gear...
anyway, I can't believe that they're still putting out minecraft videos regularly.
yogscast is my "guilty pleasure" of youtube. I don't watch the minecraft stuff at all anymore (unless it's a puzzle map), but I love the TTT, GTA V, and other stuff they do.
yogscast's civ streams are pretty great though. Ya they do some weird branding stuff these days but they're not the failing youtubers portrayed in this thread, their xmas stream is like up to 2M$ in funding now and they are still extremely popular.
