fuck them
mega64 misses the point
i think you need to watch their podcast to understand where they're coming from with this
which probably means it's a bad video, welp
It has no Rocco, therefore it's bad
They kind of missed the point. It's not a sense of accomplishment people are angry about, it's how much nothing made any sense and blew plot holes (essentially plot CHUNKS) into the rest of the three games, AND they were lazy and used the same cinematic for three vastly different choices. then told us to buy DLC.
I like when Sean says "well I played the game". the thing is, everybody that played the game and completed it has been saying the same thing, and that the last 10 minutes were garbage. I love Mega64 and all and I get where they're coming from, but they're way off point.
they're also going the "entitlement" route IGN went.

Can someone explain the point to me.
The point that they're trying to get across is the people who created the petitions and that guy who sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau are fucking retarded. They even say on their podcast how they've played games that were terrible yet they didn't go to some of the extremes that these people did just because they felt disappointed or cheated.
Can someone explain the point to me.
There were plot-holes and unanswered questions. People bitched to the point where it made them look fucking stupid.

Because the Mega64 crew is known for being quiet, polite, and reasonable.
The point is that Bioware completely dropped the ball on the ending. "Hey, we know we advertised that our games would have choices that matter, even going so far as to make the point of the Mass Effect series be that your choices have lasting effects, including opening or closing other choices, but we felt a bit tired while making ME3 so the ending will just be a 3-way choice that doesn't depend on anything, with each ending only being different in what color they're in, and all endings ending up with everybody dying.
Also, the mystery behind the Reapers is that they're synthetic lifeforms made to kill organics in order to protect organics from being killed by synthetics. Sense."
They put no fucking effort into the ending, nor the point of the games, nor the Reapers' motivation.
mega64 misses the point
Why does that matter, they're poking fun at the fan overreaction, not the ending itself
[editline]3rd April 2012[/editline]
Feeling a sense of entitlement after playing a game for thirty hours is stupid. That's the skit

Exactly.
I thought the ending blew chunks, but organizing rallies and fucking protests, with some people even demanding that the ending should be changed? What are you, 8 years old? Is this really what got you to get off of your seats and go into internet rage mode?
mega64 misses the point
no they dont... they hit the nail on the head
Exactly.

Problem is you're treating it like it's just a game, we paid real money for it. If you got a car and were lied to saying it'd be fantastic, and it turned out to be okay and then crap out after a while of driving it, you'd be pissed too, wouldn't you? It's no different, at all.
i watched the podcast, and they basically explain a lot of people thought they were poking fun at the all-encompassing fanbase, when really they were just making fun of the smaller group of people who are demanding for a new ending
edit: but imo i dont really think it comes across too well that way. as someone who feels the end is the end and shouldn't be changed, but bioware really did gyp people out of $60-80 for a shitty pile of fuck that was ME3 (as a whole), it seemed like they were saying "you can't expect to feel accomplished about finishing a video game of a series you love because it's just a video game" and that the reasonable people are actually expecting anything.
or im just a bitch who got his feelings hurt.
Problem is you're treating it like it's just a game, we paid real money for it.
please dont treat the game like it is just a game... the game is my life.. i love you tali...
please dont treat the game like it is just a game... the game is my life.. i love you tali...
Way to miss the point entirely and dodge around it like a fucking professional. It's a game, so what? I paid REAL money for it.
Way to completely miss the point entirely and dodge around it like a fucking professional.
the point is still an idiotic point, so you're saying because you paid money for it you are entitled to have the ending be the way you want it? When has that EVER worked? Cars are not games, games are entertainment, you're taking a video game ending too seriously.
lets break this down some more
your car breaks down on the highway.. you're fucked
you buy a game with a bad ending.. i'm not seein the similiarity...
Problem is you're treating it like it's just a game, we paid real money for it. You paid 60 dollars.
60. Dollars. Jesus.
Sure, you have the right to have good entertainment. Sure, you have the right to express that opinion, you're fully entitled to it. And you know how you protest that opinion in the open market? You don't buy the next game. That's it.
"Bioware promised me a pony for Christmas and they didn't bring it! This is the worst Christmas EVER!"
Grow the fuck up.

pretty sure he didnt expect the game to be, essentially, unfinished or rushed to be finished with an ending that was literally pasting The Phantom Menace to the end of Star Wars 4, 5, and 6.
i don't think many reasonable people are actually mad it didn't end the way they wanted it to, like a happy ending or shepard headbutts a reaper and an american flag comes out of his suit and then fireworks. pretty sure they're just mad they paid more money for a finale that was somehow worse, in terms of actually work put into it, than the sequel that came out before it.

You say 60 dollars like it's not a good deal of money... I could do alot with those 60 dollars which I can't get back now. The point is they outright lied to their community so we would buy the game and refuse to compensate us. It's no different from any other form of product.
Problem is you're treating it like it's just a game, we paid real money for it. Yes I would be very upset if something I invested thousands of dollars into didn't work at all
That's not even remotely similar to not liking the ending of a 60$ video game.

You're missing the point of why people are mad at the game entirely. We're not mad at the ending, I wouldn't care if the ending was just shit, it's just that what they advertised about the series since 2007 was a lie, and that lie influenced me to buy the game. It's blatent false advertising, you're saying that should go unpunished?
video games nowadays are overpriced. if you dont think 60 bucks is too much for a game then i don't even fucking know
so yeah i think they should have quality. ME3 is, literally, THE example for how not to make a game, make a finale, and write a story.
Yes I would be very upset if something I invested thousands of dollars into didn't work at all

Who cares how much money it is? It's just as serious regardless of how much money they ripped me off for.

yes unless you wana go back and punish every other company that has done this for the last few decades while you're at it

No it isn't... being out thousands of dollars for a product that physically isn't working isn't the same as being out 60 bucks for something you personally didn't like.
No it isn't... being out thousands of dollars for a product that physically isn't working isn't the same as being out 60 bucks for something you personally didn't like.
It's not that I personally didn't like it, it's that I was lied to game after game in order to give me a reason to keep buying them.
yes unless you wana go back and punish every other company that has done this for the last few decades while you're at it
People had every right to do that, I'm not saying they didn't. But it'd be kind of stupid to go back and do that now. Games are no different than any other product on the market.
lied to
even if you didnt play the other games, they advertised or told us straight out things about ME3 that just weren't true. two i can think of off the top of my head were "We're not going to give you an ending that's just choose A, B, C. They're going to deeply impact the story based on your choices" and "There are 16 endings".
even if you didnt play the other games, they advertised or told us straight out things about ME3 that just weren't true. two i can think of off the top of my head were "We're not going to give you an ending that's just choose A, B, C. I was basically getting at B, but yeah they're all valid lies that increased my hype for the game. The ONLY reason I bought ME3 was because they said that my choices would matter, the one and only.
