The clunk of the gear changes followed by the turbo blow-off is music to the ears.
Dat turbo spool. HHHNNNGGGGGGGG.
I was going to say I love how everyone politely turns off to the slow lane and then that one tiny VW ruins it.
Of all the things in this video, I'm really impressed with the camera stabilisation :v: Its odd seeing the road smooth but the car bouncing around.
I was going to say I love how everyone politely turns off to the slow lane and then that one tiny VW ruins it.
We have a law for that. You shouldn't use the fast lane if the slow lane is basically free and for what ever reason it is pretty common for those small cars to block the fast lane. I have those quite a lot when I am driving on the Autobahn.
So many people overtaking without checking their mirrors.
This is awesome. Fastest I've driven is 320km/h (GPS measured) in a Audi RS6 with an ABT upgrade to 700ps. The owner was on the passenger seat and I got to drive. This was all in Germany ofcourse, where it's legal. I live 5 minutes from the german border. It was magical. Strange thing is, driving 320km/h in a car that's build to do it, is just as exciting as driving a normal car on it's topspeed of 200km/h.
So dangerous, lot of drivers don't expect you to come up behind them that fast when they are changing lanes.
So dangerous, lot of drivers don't expect you to come up behind them that fast when they are changing lanes.
In Germany most people actually do. I drive in Germany at speed (200km/h+) a lot, and people with german plates will move out of the way 99/100 times if they see you coming up over the horizon. I agree, driving like this in the Netherlands, apart from it being illegal, is stupid, suicide and homicide. If you're dutch, and drive in germany then be sure to drive differently than you do in the Netherlands. Checking your mirrors every 5 seconds is a must in Germany. I once drove 220km/h, thinking I wouldn't get overtaken and then a guy came up in a Ferrari at topspeed who was annoyed that I didn't change langes to allow to fly past. Be careful and awake.
I wish more drivers in America knew to move out of the left lane for faster drivers. While the speed limit might technically be 70mph, that doesn't mean it's okay for you to sit at exactly 70 in the left lane when I'm behind you doing 75, especially if the other lanes are open. I'm completely against passing on the right because that's dangerous and stupid, but other people seem to not have a problem with it. IMO the left lane should only be used for passing, if you're gonna sit on your cruise control, at least have the decency to use the middle or right lane.

Sounds like my old laptops fan when it started to go

Turbos sound so awesome.

But overal a lot of people in germany (even foreigners) are driving incredibly well, including looking behind them. Love driving there. I live near Doetinchem and Arnhem, so 5 minute drive to Germany.
I only have one question. The Autobahn only has 2 lanes...? Isn't that too narrow?
I only have one question. The Autobahn only has 2 lanes...? Isn't that too narrow?
depends. some parts of it have got 2 lanes, but most parts actually got 3 lanes, sometimes even more.

We have a lot of those in my part of the country, and it's really difficult to pull back into the left lane at times, especially during rush hour.
I wish more drivers in America knew to move out of the left lane for faster drivers.
You get fined over here if you stay in the left lane too much.
Is there no speed limit there or what? Doesn't seem like the smartest thing to post on youtube if there is.
I love that tach/speedo combo thing
Is there no speed limit there or what? Doesn't seem like the smartest thing to post on youtube if there is.
Getting a drivers license in germany takes a good bit of effort, more so than in the US at least, people are supposed to understand and be taught how to prepare for and react to some guy flying by at 200+ kph. Also I'm pretty sure it's not legal on all parts, only parts with excellent visibility.

German autobahns have no federally mandated speed limit for some classes of vehicles
its pretty famously known
Some Länder are setting speed limits and more and more of the Autobahn is becoming restricted to a certain speed limit. Mostly 120 km/h. Still there are many parts without speed limit and some Länder only setting one in areas in which going fast is dangerous.
Yes, i know that the autobahn has no speed limits, but what they did was utterly retarded, they could easily have ended up killing themselves and others. Rich young assholes are the worst.
Yes, i know that the autobahn has no speed limits, but what they did was utterly retarded, they could easily have ended up killing themselves and others. Rich young assholes are the worst.
Wow. What's up your ass? It wasn't utterly retarded, and what's them being young and rich got to do with it? Young people with normal incomes also drive 250km/h on the autobahn in their 20 year old BMW. Calm down mate.
I only have one question. The Autobahn only has 2 lanes...? Isn't that too narrow?
You don't need more than 2 lanes in less populated areas. In and around cities it's usually 3 or 4 (can sometimes be extended to 5) lanes per direction.
I agree completely, but sometimes you have to pass on the right since people will just refuse to change lanes despite the fact you are clearly trying to go faster than they are.
Isn't passing on the right illegal?
I wish more drivers in America knew to move out of the left lane for faster drivers. IMO the left lane should only be used for passing, if you're gonna sit on your cruise control, at least have the decency to use the middle or right lane.
While kind of a dickish move sometimes, yes, it is okay. Because if the right lane is at a constant 60 or slower and I need to go the speed limit or higher, then I'm going left. And when I had a gas guzzler, going over 70 usually ate up my fuel pretty fast, so I sat at 70 when I need to because I'm not going 55 or 60 for my daily 30 minute commute. If the limit is 70 and someone's doing 70 in the left lane, then you can deal with it. They're not doing anything wrong, you are. I normally go 75 myself, but people who get mad because people are going the speed limit in the fast lane are pretty silly. And as a rule if someone comes up fast behind me, I'll move out of the way if I can, because that's just polite, but all the same.
