are video games art now?
The music sure is
No, they're a way to get viewers specially for shows that are struggling with ratings
imagine people in this day and age still thinking that video games cant have artistic value
Wait hangon one of those doesn't fit.... Why the FUCK would you include TF2 in there?
I can think of several artistic games. Here are some examples!

truly the most relevant games of all time of any topic
you forgot gone home and fez

I wouldn't really consider gone home and fez art. they were both extremely generic when it comes to games
I wouldn't really consider gone home and fez art. they were both extremely generic when it comes to games
I was being a smart ass
I wouldn't really consider gone home and fez art. they were both extremely generic when it comes to games
If one game is art, then all games are art though? I mean you can't say something isn't art because you don't like it, that just makes it bad art.
What the fuck guys
art is a pure subjective term. some people call paintings art but there is no reason why other things cannot be considered art.
like some food could be considered art in some people's eyes. I do not see why a video game cannot be considered art in the eyes of some people.
I don't give a shit about art though. I enjoy some things regardless of if they are art or not.
I saw them live on Sept 2 in Indianapolis. It was amazing and i cried a little.
It's an open forum, what are you gonna do?
Nothing. You're the one making an ass out of yourself.
No, they're a way to get viewers specially for shows that are struggling with ratings
or you know, He actually genuinely likes the games?
I wouldn't really consider gone home and fez art. they were both extremely generic when it comes to games
I'd absolutely consider them art.
Whether or not they're good art is up for debate, but they're art nonetheless.
Video games have music and their own graphical style
If those two things aren't art I don't know what is
Hell, coding can be an art within itself. It not only takes skill, but creativity as well.
It's an open forum, what are you gonna do?
I didn't specificly mean Colbert was using it like that and I don't think video games aren't art, but there are so many people out there who're just using video games as something to get their agenda and message across
they have evolved into a respected medium, so your point is completely invalid.
most of those games suck
Namely which ones?
Rapelay, MGS3, Witcher 3, and Okami are great!
Half of them =/= most of them.
I just googled Rapelay and jesus christ why
Yes, if by that you mean become a big industry with big bucks involved
but nooo Gaming is new so i'm obviously right to make the edgy response!
most of those games suck
Obviously you haven't played Rapelay
Yes, if by that you mean become a big industry with big bucks involved
Why do half of the threads on the first page of this subforum have at least one incredibly terrible, contrarian post in it made by you?
Like holy shit I've seen you post a bunch before and you've seemed like a normal guy and suddenly now you're dropping shitposts like there's no tomorrow.
Pretty lame how Kendrick's performance didn't get an official upload but this did.
Rapelay is such a good game that you literally can't find it on shelves anymore.
Saw the concert in Montreal this summer and the orchestra got a 5 mins ovation at the end, not counting all the others before.
Plus, when "Fi's Gratitude" played, I saw a father sitting next to me comforting his young son who was on the verge of crying and the entire room was silent compared to when other songs popped up.
A really great experience. Really cool of Colbert to have let them play in his show.
