I'd be going weak at the knees if I ever had to once step foot in that building.
And I mean it. I fell over when I stood under a lighthouse and looked up at it.
Reminds me of Bioshock Infinite.
Reminds me of Bioshock Infinite.
really? it reminds me 100% of god bless red white and blue freedom
And I mean it. I fell over when I stood under a lighthouse and looked up at it.
Ever get the feeling you're going to fall into the sky when watching fireworks right above you?
Ever get the feeling you're going to fall into the sky when watching fireworks right above you?
Nah. But I have literally had to crawl up and down a long staircase in front of a bunch of people because I couldn't stand to walk their length normally.
I don't know about USSR over here, but I think buildings lined with internal balconies are super cool for some reason.
Meanwhile, today:
This line of thought piss me off because A.Our generation is known to be the most tolerant ever seen in US history and B.Because if you're going to participate in democracy you need to drop your cynicism at the door.
Gee you Americans and your pride.
They've got some harmony parts in there, sounds awesome for such a large group.
It sounded decent but a lot of the words were unrecognizable and blended together too much. That comes with the territory of having 1,000 people singing at once, though.

There's always that one girl who is just showing off.
Normally I find patriotism pretty ridiculous and overall just annoying, but this was incredible.
I only tolerate this video because I like choirs.
Gee you Americans and your pride.
pride goes before destruction
As well as singing in a place with a LOT of echo, with so much harmony.
The echo makes it sound more intense though, although I agree worse for understanding words
So, I'll be the guy that further explain what's going on since the video description does a shit job of it sadly. What's going on is Kentucky's All State choir is staying at the Hyatt seen here in Louisville. Hundreds upon hundreds of students go outside their room each year at a certain time of night (usually at like 11, I believe). It's more of a tradition thing rather than a ode to the Olympics. The timing just matched up this year. They do this without a conductor too, which I find even more incredible. They usually get a few to start humming together and then the singing starts from there. The fact that they get such great harmony going impresses me. Source: I live in Kentucky and I had a few friends in All State back during high school.
Holy shitballs. Really really tall building, with really really loud noise. That place, for a short while, was literally my worst fears. Just looking at tall things makes me recoil in fear, that shit would give me a heart attack.
Normally I find patriotism pretty ridiculous and overall just annoying, but this was incredible.
Theres a difference between patriotism and nationalism, and singing your country's national anthem is not nationalism. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with loving your country or being prideful of it. But when it starts becoming nationalism is when it becomes a bad thing.

Absolutely gorgeous, reminds me of this
God the bless the USA ;~;7

Patriotism and nationalism go hand in hand but they aren't the same. Singing your national anthem in a quire isn't nationalism.

It's not really a precise term.
Normally I find patriotism pretty ridiculous and overall just annoying, but this was incredible.
Patriotism and Nationalism are very different. Loving your country, but also liking other countries is patriotism. Loving only your country and thinking it is absolutely great and infallible in every way and no other country is even half as good is nationalism.
