That's how jails should be. The purpose of Prison is to rehabilitate people into functioning human beings that know how to act in society. Besides the guns and drugs.
Rather than sitting in a cell 24/7 doing absolutely nothing.
In prison you don't sit in a cell 24/7 doing nothing, if you're a civil inmate you get free time, work out time, time to work aka hobbybench or crafting, some prisons (in arizona) even allow the good inmates to rent movies from blockbuster (through the prison).
That video, however, is an excuse for a prison. It's exactly what a prison would be if the inmates took over, they wouldn't leave, even if they could. They would just run the place with violence; eventually into the ground.

Have you seen even a single fight or brawl in that video?
I haven't.
I think that Jail time should be split between hard time and then this.
This makes people feel like human beings but doesn't really teach them anything.
You people do realize that the government isn't paying for any of this but everything's paid with money made with crimes?
Some jails in norway has tv's in the jail cells. They also get alarm clocks so they know what the time is :unsmith:

Sure prisons are for rehabilitating people, but this one sure isn't doing rehabilitation. Venezuela has the third highest homicide rate in the ENTIRE WORLD. To put that into a local perspective, there are 10 times as many murders in Venezuela as the United States, and theres 10 times as many murders in the United States as a few European countries and Japan. You know how we hear about all those drug cartel killings in Mexico all the time? Venezuela has three and a half times the murder rate of Mexico. The capital of Venezuela has the second highest/highest (depending on source) homicide rate of any city in the world. And those homicide rates are actually really low compared to reality, considering the government there is corrupt as fuck. People who live there are often afraid of leaving their houses due to fear of being kidnapped, mugged, raped, etc.
Oh and, of those murders guess how many were convicted? 5%. What a boss system.

The guy they were interviewing said the leader doesn't like seeing broken limbs so instead they beat them without breaking limbs.
And that if that doesn't work they use guns.
Pretty much all Dutch prison's have a Console (360/PS3) a TV with DVD player and daily magazines/newspaper
I love that song that's playing in the very begining

Yeah same thing here in Belgium..
doesn't matter what FP thinks. what the rabbit says goes... you got that?
I don't think prisons should be too comfortable like that.
The point of prisons is to punish people, to make them learn the hard way that you cannot senselessly murder or beat someone.
No matter what kind of prison, it comes down to the prisoner whether he ever gets out or not. If someone gets a 10 year sentence for killing someone, he can just lay back and relax and at least act penitent to get out. If he kills again, he goes right back in. Pretty simple.. kind of.
Prison is fine just the way it is. There is no, "Oh welcome to prison! Hopefully you learn you're not supposed to be naughty. Here's a cupcake."
