Everything Great with Batman v. Superman Ultimate Edition [CinemaWins] - General

So CinemaSins opened up a new channel called CinemaWins, an opposite to what the original was meant to do. I actually like it, as it opens up to more movie commentary and reveals a more positive outlook on films that people originally hated. Even as someone who hated BvS can appreciate that there's something to like about BvS Ultimate Edition. Even the guy knows that the original theatrical release is garbage, and he's supposedly positive throughout the movie pointing out things that most people would either miss out or downright ignored in most reviews. Movie gets too much shit for too dark and supposedly depressing but I prefer it to the endless stream of MCU movies because it at least felt different. The action scenes were more well done as well. Admittedly, the plot was AWFUL though. The editing in the theatrical cut made it even worse. The portrayal of Lex was just insulting to the intellect. I still liked it on the whole though.

Plotwise it's still jank, but I kinda admire that they went opposite of Marvel with the focus being more on styling than realism

I can pretty much agree on most of these fronts. As much as I like the Marvel films for being faithful to the source material and having non-messy plots as most comic films have had in the past, there was something about the action up until Winter Soldier where the action was either very contained or over way too quick because superheroes vs. men in suits always work out well in the end. The plot was bad in BvS, but the action was so intense and immersive that I felt engrossed whenever someone threw the first punch and a all-out brawl ensured. You felt like you were among bickering gods besides mere mortals whenever they fought. It was the only thing I liked watching it in theaters and would have been an awful experience if I saw it at home with a standard stereo system. I'm glad I saw it, but if it weren't for the Ultimate Edition I wouldn't even consider it as a top 10; Ultimate Edition maybe #15 if there was a thing as a top 20. Doctor Strange is looking to reshape that formula though.

Which is a shame, since I feel like half of the characters in the MCU are written too similarly.

My sister watched it and she felt like she wasted those couple of hours from her life. Apparently she hated the film that much. I couldn't stop laughing hysterically when she, and several others, described the [sp]compendium on Zod's ship containing the knowledge of the universe[/sp] as a Kryptonian flashdrive.

I just prefer this new one over the original because aside from the fact that its a parody, there's something better to be optimistic over than to be pessimistic, which is what this channel is about.
