I wonder if there's an European release. I don't even have a Vita or the Vita TV and i'll gladly buy this.
If this had came out when i was away in Japan, i would had bought it.
I wonder if the dev was able to leave Venezuela
Never got around to try this, worth picking up?
I'm surprised the PS Vita is still getting releases. Wasn't it a big flop?

I liked it, made for nice bedtime reading.

Great aesthetic, cool gameplay concept, bland writing. Your mileage will vary depending on your priorities. Either way, it's pretty cheap.

It has been discontinued in the West. It still gets games in Japan I believe.
I hope they release a soundtrack with all the music performed like the trailer.

Yeah the story is very character-driven, and if you don't care for the characters there's not much to the story otherwise. I liked the visuals and the music and the fact that I could pass out at any point. A very comfy visual novel.

I've seen a video that talked about this a while back. Basically a lot of indie devs are still making vita ports of their games because making a port is very simple if you have already ported the game to PS4 and the games sell very well because there is little competition. There has been like 90 games released on vita on the PSN in 2017 so far.
Honestly, this makes me wish I didn't give up updating my console to live in glorious henkaku land of custom firmware. Maybe I'll be able to play that game some day.

No European release. But the Vita isn't region locked if you wanted to import it.
I just got a Vita and I love it, wish I had gotten it sooner before Sony sorta abandoned it. Still a great little handheld.
Gonna get this game for sure, already played it but I'd like a physical copy for vita that sounds comfy as hell.

Its a big succes in Japan.
The ending was my biggest gripe with the game, a bunch of plotlines and characters are introduced over the course of the game, but unless you have esp and know how to take the other routes, which resolves only one character arc, the game just takes one subplot, sort of resolves it, and that's the end. I was so annoyed when the credits suddenly rolled and left me with a "what? That was it?" feeling.
The characters were interesting enough and I really enjoyed the aesthetic but I was left wanting more, which left me with a bit of a sour aftertaste.
I think the main issue with Valhalla (Not going to bother with the fancy lettering) was that it had a lot more potential than what the game offered. The game takes place in a futuristic dystopia, scratching a few odd concepts of a foreign society with different rules and cultures, and then it just ends. It's like watching the first hour of either BladeRunner movies, where everything is established and things fall into place, but then you stop the movie there and that's it.
It's a good Slice-of-Life piece as far as I'm concerned with my experience of visual novel, but they just dropped the ball near the end. It's kind of weird in that sense, since writing more story doesn't require much more assets than what they already had. Maybe they were rushed due to their budget or they needed money fast due to the degrading situation in Venezuela...
It's an okay game.

I got a PSP go recently, the Sony handheld systems are really underrated
I still have my White PSP that was one of the original models, sadly it can't read Memory Sticks anymore but I did get one of the cheaper models they made in the PSP's final years that doesn't have features like wifi (not that it matters anymore since most of the PSP's online stuff is dead).
I got a Vita and sold it for 3DS Games after 6 months, it was such a cool handheld with a lot of potential but it almost had fucking nothing on it. I'm legit pissed Sony didn't give it more support (plus It didn't help it used priority memory cards, have fun with that console collectors in 10 years time!).

Serious talk if they made the Vita a phone I think it would have sold a lot better, it could support 4G so I don't see why it couldn't be used for phone stuff and game stuff.

Yes.
This game is great, but I feel like the drink-making mechanic had so little variety in how it altered the story. The only time I felt like making a specific drink or choosing not to make a drink was when the character literally tells herself that maybe she shouldn't make an alcoholic drink for a person. The rest of the decisions was felt like it was just watching everyone's life go by on the sidelines while you manage your money.
I'm definitely going to get shit on for this, but I don't think the music fits with the theme of the game.
It's way too jazzy and groovy and instrument heavy. If there was ever a type of game that I'd prefer having electronic music over real instruments, it's a cyberpunk game.
Just an FYI: If anyone wants to wait for a fancy physical version, Limited Run Games is going to do one. This'll actually be the first LRG release I buy. Such a great game.
Japan is also getting a physical release next week, but it's Japanese-language only. Gotta go through LRG if you want it in English.

Oh, they mention the LRG release at the end of the trailer. lol nevermind
I wonder if the physical version has a firmware limitation
Whatever, gonna buy it anyway. Maybe the hackers will figure out how to bypass it eventually.

But it's a physical for vita, right? No physical case for the PC version?

Yeah, only for Vita afaik.

One of my gripes about the music is that it's disconnected to the people and their stories. You end up with a character coming out from hiding from public lynchings while some big tit android's pop music is playing in the background. It's just so bizarre sometimes.

I mean, you start every shift by picking the music that will play for the day so its sorta on you. Also much of it is supposed to be like a cyberpunk take on jazz bar music.

No its not. Cyberpunk jazz bar music would be dope as fuck. This same music with more synthy inteumentation would be killer. This is just cheezy jazz bar music

the team is literally 2-3 people, dude
Fernando Damas (Writer, Progammer) - @ironiclark
Christopher Ortiz (Design, Visuals) - @kiririn51
Michael Kelly (Music) - @garoadmusic
also the game took like 2 years to do and the main developers were in Venezuela, it's good for the resources they had
