I have seen this people bundled up looking for work in Tijuana, Haitians have been stranded there for at least a year.
It is shameful how US is trying to prohibit Mexicans from entering the border, while also stranding, the poorest, neediest and their own people to Mexico.
Things are hard but they might have a better chance here really.
Isn't the title of the video a lie though?

The route takes 3 months and costs 7000 dollars.
When they end up at customs, they will be send back to Haiti because they are economic migrants. Of course their situation sucks, but as it says in the video, this situation was already a thing under Obama, it just got even stricter under Trump.
They aren't stuck in Mexico, they prefer Mexico over going back to Haiti.
I hate the tone of videos like these where the editorial point of view is clearly trying to make America out as the bad guy for not just randomly accepting infinite refugees or asylum seekers out of the kindness of its heart. Like, I understand that it's very preferable to live in America than to live in Haiti, but I don't understand the shock and disgust people have when they realize you can't just walk across the border and magically become an American just because you want to. Other developed nations have complex immigration processes and are selective on who they take in, often choosing only to allow skilled workers, so why is America not allowed to do the same?

Why is it shameful? The United States has no obligation to take in migrants just because they want it. I'd love to live in Norway but I don't expect them to be cool with me just showing up via a one-way ticket and unloading my bags at their doorstep.
You know you can strike a middle ground right. We could do with making our immigration system much more open, we most certainly have the capacity for it and our current system is really shit.
It's like if you see multiple people drowning, you can't get them all ofc, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do what you can.

I have no reason to oppose more sensible immigration policy, what's wrong with our current system? Like what specifically should be changed?
Aside from that though, while it wouldn't hurt, I still don't see why the odus is on America to save the world. All of the resources used to accommodate asylum seekers and refugees could alternatively be used to support struggling American citizens. Why do people get incredibly self-righteous about taking in tons of refugees and asylum seekers from all over the world, but have no concern for the homeless or impoverished of their own country? Would it be a bad thing if we used those resources to help American citizens instead of trying to save everyone on Earth?
