The more the merrier.
These kinds of games are amazingly fun to play when they're done right.

I really hope to see more games like this. I wonder why they decided to make this that way. Hotline miami used it super well.
I don't know 2d games that well so I wouldn't know what else uses this but this looks amazing.

These sorts of games existed before hotline miami tbh
If Hotline Miami has that indie, electronic sound. I hope this one will have music similar to Sleeping Dogs.

Liking the homage to the John Woo films.

Heavily inspired perhaps. Ripoff would suggest no originality imo.

theres a bunch of stylish similarities that dont have anything to do with the fast top perspective gameplay.

I made a shitty top down game for a school project and it's a lot harder than I expected to convey information on the sprites. Hotline Miami did a stellar job

it seems more "Realistic" and gun based
This looks amazingly satisfying to play.
Dem particles.

1975's Gun Fight had guns first they stole guns from gun fight
blatant rip off 0/10
Hey, it might be possible to play this without having a seizure every 5 or so minutes!
Hotline Miami was excellent, and this looks similar in some ways (okay, a lot of ways), but it's the only way I could see a top-down shooter like this working to be honest. It's going for an entirely different style of combat, and looks pretty fleshed out as is. Could be interesting, these things are massive fun.
Wow, they fucking killed Senor Chang?
I would love to see a gta 2 & 1 remake with these graphics

no that's a dumb fallacy
my point is an actual point
Anyone know the music?
Edit : Waiiiiit, i found it, this guy is doing the soundtrack for Hotline Miami 2 as well. What the shiz.

Getting a serious F.E.A.R. slo-mo vibe going on with this
Which makes me rikey alot
it looks really fun, but when nothing is happening it seems like a quite bland visual style
To be honest it seems to be borrowing alot more from Korrean movies spefically crime dramas.
It's not really ripping Hotline off.

They stole a mechanic nobody knew about yet, A+

Except that there was footage of that mechanic being used in this way before the trailer that first showed that in Hotline Miami 2 came out. So if anything, Hotline Miami 2 stole it. I'm not saying that anyone stole anything though.
I feel these top-down close-quarters type games need to add a line of sight function where you can't see anything that isn't in front of you or is obstructed by the walls of the map, kind of like Monaco. It would definitely add a sense of tension when creeping through the levels for the first time.

It wouldn't work for this kind of game though, it's way too fast paced for that.
