I'd love to try smithing with damascus steel, but as he said it's a bitch to get the materials for it(Unless you want to pay a metric fuckton/buy a metric fuckton of materials)

I used to live on a stable, so there were always horseshoers around who taught me the basics of blacksmithing. I have a few knives and other small things I've made, but I don't have my own tools, so I haven't done anything more than that.

For steel to work on, go to a scrap yard and nick some old car springs. As long as they're not completely rusted up, they're usable. Did some blacksmithing a long time ago when I had access to a furnace.
