I am reserving judgement until I see a body fly half-way across the map from a thermal detonator.
Ehh I hate to say it but I don't have time for this anymore... Fallout 4 all the way
Looks bland to me.
It just looks so bland and boring.
i'd pay hundreds of half-cents for this game
Having played the first beta, I can say it's pretty fun. Environments are gorgeous, basic gameplay feels more like a modernized Battlefront than Battlefield like a lot of people have been saying
I've got definite gripes, but the base gameplay feels good. At the very least it has good gun feel, which is something most Star Wars games are kind of lacking.
It's really the lack of the Clone Wars that's so off-putting to me. CIS were my favorite faction :(
Ugh, the graphics are amazing and the gameplay looks okay, but the HUD is so off-putting (please tell me that's placeholder) and honestly there's just so many things that they could have done with it that they didn't (bigger player count, modding, more maps, vehicles, etc.... space battles...) that the game doesn't even stand out as what we all would expect for the sequel to a highly regarded series. So disappointing... maybe I'll play it someday, as it is a Star Wars game.
more maps, vehicles, etc.... space battles...
don't worry, they can always sell all of these as overexpensive DLC and most likely will

yea a large reason i loved battlefront 2 was because clones and droids were really fun to play as
That level looks so fucking claustrophobic
It's so small and confined and... boring.
This isn't a Battlefront game.
Id honestly just prefer if the gameplay was more like Battlefield.

it's the dropzone gamemode, chill out.
there's an open beta for the ps4 on the 8th till the 12th so we'll all get some better insight.
The gamemodes in the beta are this boring looking one, survival (which could be good or bad), and walker assault, which looks really fun and is the most "classic" gamemode in the beta. walker assault is also the only gamemode in the beta with heroes (Luke and Vader).
really looks like this is one of those game modes that's fun due to the pressure on you as a player. It's not super big and exciting in a replay but not knowing where enemies might come from while you're playing [del]king of the hill[/del] defend the drop pod makes it tense for defenders and encouraging for attackers
definitely want to wait til I get a go at it first hand, it has some exciting visuals and I'm hoping the experiences are solid enough to warrant some hype
How do I get into Beta on PC? If possible..
Scheduled reminder that Angels Fall First is the true new Battlefront
What does it have that BF doesn't? Space battles. Space battles with capital ships you can crew. Space battles with capital ships from which you can LAUNCH FIGHTERS. Space battles with enemy capital ships for you to board and sabotage. Space battles with space stations you must board and fight over on foot. All that in addition to Battlefield-esque planetside maps with a variety of objectives, and vehicles and weapons with which to fulfil them. Oh, and bots. And 64-player servers (With maps large enough for that playercount to make sense). And classes and loadout customisation. And it doesn't cost 50 fucking quid (It's £10/$13 for the next 2 days, £13/$15 after)
The only thing Battlefront has over AFF is the Star Wars setting and (only slightly) shinier graphics (and a not-shit UI). Take those things away and it looks extremely shallow in comparison

When I look at it I basically see Battlefield 3/4 in a SW skin, not going to lie
Yeah, it might have a bunch of things to separate it, but I still see that that sort of sprint-aim-shoot gameplay that I've played loads of times before. Its repetitive and frustrating when you're up against a team that's miles better than yours (which gets exponentially worse based on the number of months the game has been out) and I don't even find the gunplay in those sorts of games that entertaining.
I get a sort of nausea playing these games and I'm not entirely sure why, maybe its the graphics or the sheer amount of detail and all but playing for more than an hour isn't fun

Open beta starts this weekend
Open beta starts this weekend
Thank you, fine sir.
Going to assume its on Origin?
Yup! Here are some details if you want them.
Oh damn, I didn't know the beta was going to be on PC as well, da-doi
i'll be trying out both i guess, to 1) compare the port and 2) play with all ma buds
looks like steamy shit.
So I guess this isn't going to be GOY looking at it so far.

I played the Alpha, it felt nothing like Battlefield

I mean literally nothing I've seen about this game so far has made me want it, this is just part of that.
All people need to ask themselves is "Why is BF3 so featureless compared to BF2?" BF2 wasnt this hugely marketed game, it wasnt gigantic, but it ended up being released with a fuckload of content, fun as fuck, with everyone feeling diverse. It had SO many fucking maps and enemies, vehicles, weapons, etc... iirc a few maps even had both ground+air battle(not talking about the space battles where you can go into the ships on feet) I think Cloud City was one of the maps?
All I see from this are humans and jet packs, everyone having jetpacks it seems. Its going to end up with multiple expansions with content that should have been in from the start. Something Battlefront 2 never made you do. Stop giving EA money. They are once again taking you for a ride. You will buy this, play it for like 6 hours and then realize its the shame shit you could have gotten if you bought any modern shooter these days. Jetpacks and all.(oh sorry, jumpjets in some cases)
Then you will remember that its nothing like BF2 or what made it so good.
the guns look like they have no weight to them at all
i get that they're laser blasters but it doesn't even feel like he's firing it at all
no recoil, very little spread, no ammo
all the game modes look like this too
game looks and sounds nice though, shame they can't get the gameplay right though
At least Battlefront gave you the idea that you were fighting in a vast battlefield with lots of vehicles big and small. Despite the prequels reputation I found the Clone Wars battles, locations, tech and theme a lot more fun, not including them is a shame. But I highly suspect they plan to milk it slowly, by offering a Clone Wars DLC, including some more maps and perhaps even space battles.
This content I have seen so far looks like a lot of smoke and mirrors boxed into a small skirmish map, which I never felt Battlefront was about.
Are there even some city styled maps Battlefield is known for?

IIRC they were asked by Disney to focus on the OT and the new movie.

Doesn't look like it, unfortunately. In their defense, there really isn't any urban warfare in the movies.
