ASMR videos are horrible. They just sound like someone chamming food quietly in my ear. Or someone audibly invading my personal space.
Come to think of it, throwing in a jump scare in an ASMR video would be a hilarious dick move.
I don't think they're horrible, they just don't give me that nice tingly feeling that the listeners says it gives them.
Any ASMR videos just make me very uncomfortable and awkward.

I think the problem is that the people making the videos are trying too hard to be ''relaxing'', creating the opposite effect for many.
These videos work a lot better when they're unintended to be used like that. Take for example any Bob Ross video. You feel cozy and relaxed within 5 seconds of any video of him painting, even though his main idea was to teach you how to paint gorgeous landscapes.
If the person making the video doesn't have the tone/voice necessary for something like that, then no matter what s/he tries, it just won't work.

I still remember posting that comic on FP. The artist had like 3-4 other scary comics but I think that was the first the auto scroll was used in that way.
ASMR is okay when it's stuff like just videos of people doing stuff that makes noise like cooking food or messing with paper or nature sounds like rain, birds, wind rustling leaves and shit or whatever.
