We got a kitten this year and this is pretty much why we didn't put up a tree this year. She would totally climb it, knock it over, knock off and destroy all the ornaments..

Exactly what I was gonna say. Why would you let any animal climb on a Christmas tree? It's dangerous for loads of reasons.
Good thing they didn't put much ornaments on the tree, otherwise it'd be a mess haha.
