As someone who worked for a company who provides internet. I can say they aren't really ready to upgrade existing lines unless it really needs it(malfunctioning/dead *nodes*).

I am glad google fiber is spreading across my state and will soon be in SLC.
Using century link right now and other than a few problems with mistakes in my billing they are total bros compared to how shit comcast is.
