I don't know about you guys, but I preferred the overall feel of the original. Was cheesy as fuck in a good way, and it wasn't the ridiculous "sleek shine future" theme like most modern sci-fis seem to go for expecting us to never get old of it.
If I remember right, Murphy actually did die in the original movie and OmniCorp just used his brain (and whatever else was left of him) to make Robocop. Sure there were still a few memories and human emotions left, but the Murphy everyone knew was gone. A robot/cyborg discovering its past human life just seems more like an interesting story to me then "Police Officer Alex Murphy was your average family man in Detroit... Until he got shrapnel-fucked by a car-bomb and now with his new Android-powered tactical super-suit he has to shoot, motorcycle, and wubwub his way to revenge and shag his wife to cure his mind-control."
Also did they seriously make a scene just to go "YEAH OLD ROBOCOP WAS DUMB AND BORING BUT WE MADE HIM BETTER SEE HE HAS TWO GUNS NOW AND HE'S BLACK AND HE HAS THAT CYLON VISOR THING NOW YEAH WE MADE IT SO MUCH BETTER HELP US WE CAN'T STOP CUMMING."
I'm not one of those people that can't stand little things changing either; I think robocop's old design didn't age very well and looks very costume-y (More then the Tron/nanosuit one even.) Rebootcop had a modernized classic look which could be seen mid-trailer (and the thumbnail) that I thought was 10x better then the original, but then for whatever reason the scene above happened.
