I love that ending cut. :v:
He actually made it out of fucking meteorite.
I want a space sword now.
This is so fuckin awesome; I really need to check out more of this guy's videos. I saw him make the Master Sword before.
Perfect ending.
If someone made one of these few thousand years back it would be a holy relic/religious artifact.
Oh shit it looks like Damascus steel. That's pretty fucking awesome.

Hell, the meteor itself would be a holy relic. That's what Mecca is, a black meteor in a giant box.
This is too awesome for words yet sad just as much. With how hard it is to truly make a sword out of a meteorite, I don't think anyone will take up requests saying "Can my sword be made out of a giant space rock?". This could be the closest thing to an esquisite sword we will ever get that no one else can ever perfect. :(

Literally cost him a fortune I'm betting.

Not to belittle the awesome accomplishments of these guys, but the swords they were making back then were absolute mastercraft, it's hard to compare to Scandinavian pattern welding techniques of twisting and braiding metal flats together, and those were made entirely by hand without the aid of powered tools.

(modern reconstructions, obviously)
He just stabbed the shitty movie remake with the sword.
That's fucking great.

For comparison if you don't watch the show.

Real Damascus steel is the first known instance of man made carbon nano-tubes. Nobody outdid the Arabs back in the day.
Damn that pattern on the sword looks amazing.
Also since we are already talking about smithing methods: Don't forget that most of these methods simply turned useless when the new steels arrived.
Gotta love the emphasis on how awful the movie was compared to the show.

I thought the celts also knew how to do that or Something along the lines of twisting different steels/irons together then hammering them straight.
Fucking perfect, I asked for it once, shamefully I didn't appear in the beginning of the video with the other comments.
What do they do when they finish the sword? Are some of them auctioned off or given away?

I think he gives them away somehow, or sells them somewhere. Where would he keep all those swords from all his videos. :v:
Man I really want him to do a warhammer weapon
Does he only do swords? If not, it'd be awesome if he could do Sauron's mace.

He does other shit as well, he made Gimili's axe and Sora's keyblade.
What a waste of perfectly good arizona tea :(
Awesome sword though, and the stabbing of the movie was great.
I wonder if they actually knew about Sokka's involvement with cactus.
The references to the show when they cut shit, they don't stop

Wolverines Claws.
I want him to make Thrall's Doomhammer. It would be a huge change from his usual bladed weapons.
God damn that's nerdy.
I love it.
Wonder why he didn't make it black tho. Pattern too pretty or process too impractical with meteorite material?

I don't know of a way to have the metal itself turn black, you usually do it with black ceramic paint or something.
Literally cost him a fortune I'm betting.
Not really that much, he mentioned its about $1000 worth of meteorite metal
Which is a lot but not exactly a fortune
Also keep in mind that its not pure meteorite, because the pure meteorite is just crappy brittle iron so he had to fold in a bunch of steel to get it to work. I suspect the final sword only includes a small amount of actual meteorite and the rest is steel. Still really cool, especially how he basically made a meteorite ingot.
