Industrial Light & Magic are a brilliant VFX company
I find it funny how the fight Optimus VS Megatron was so short they didn't have to shorten it for this video. But yeah, cool effects. That's about it.
Basically the only positive thing about the transformers films.

Watching this, I couldn't help to notice that these movies would actually be half decent if there wasn't so much focus on EXPLOSION, BOOM, POW, WICKATA!!!

If anything the boom pow is the only saving grace.
The effects are nothing short of astonishing, but that still doesn't make their art-design worth a damn. I don't care how real your turd looks, it's still just an extremely real looking turd.

Shit like this makes up for the bad shit of this generation, I'm happy to be alive around this time.

It wasn't the best cgi ever but they at least had the decency of using CGI to picture a completely new world which was quite interesting to watch, not just robots and explosions and buildings falling apart. But once again, it suffered from the CGI syndrome and had an incredibly shitty story Cameron tried to hide with fancy special effects.
I always found the aesthetic design of the movie to be far too cluttered. Granted the effects are great quality, but they're too complex and make it difficult for anyone watching to follow. Half the time I couldn't tell which bot was which or even what side they were on since it all just became a ball of warping metal covered in dust! Too much shit is going on ruined any enjoyment I had for the action scenes that Shia's terrible acting and written dialogue didn't already kill.
