Proof: Valve playtested their games and figured out some dumbass would shoot the scientist that was necessary and didn't want the game experience to be over because you were trigger happy.

The video is a joke. If it isn't, then the guy that created it doesn't understand how canon works. Eli is alive in HL2, and HL2 is canon according to Valve, so Eli's death is non-canon, not HL2.
