IN SPAAACE! This is pretty much everything I ever wanted in Forge.
A 10 min video about object placement and snapping? Hardly "unique" features as they call them.

They map they showed off looks amazing and I know I'm going to use it for most of my maps.

They also have added light rendering onto the objects you add, in halo 3 and reach, shadows did not cast on them unless they were from weapons, vehicles, and players. Now world lighting will cast onto the objects so now they objects will no longer be all dark, or all bright. Its also unique since no other AAA game offers a in game map editor like halo does.
I'm really digging that forge map. I hope we can control lighting effectively, making a dark space station area for infection is all I wanna do when I see that map.

I got myself a new Xbox in preparation for this game, my old one broke back in January

How long until someone makes the first halo 4 "credit/xp glitch" map I have this feeling one will turn up exactly fifteen seconds after the game comes out.

Forge was my favorite gamemode in Reach and they fixed almost every problem with it, the lock tool for one will be extremly useful. I cant wait to play this!
The trait zones could be cool for having ladders. Like, have a wall, put a few small ladder-esque pieces in the wall, then have a really tall, thin trait zone that lets you jump just high enough to get to the top of the ladder. Can't wait.

I always liked when Halo started to have forge in it, never see that in console games, last time I saw that was in Timesplitters but timesplitters mapping was pretty fucking confusing. Just wish they made this for PC and that you could create a map from scratch instead of having to build in 3 base maps. I really dont have an idea why companies dont give map tools more often for FPS they are the only reason games like CS and TFC/TF2 have even lasted this long.

Forge works because you're just putting shit on pre built maps. Imagine a map maker for call of duty.

If CoD had a map tool for PC that would be great, it would be great for any FPS, people make amazing maps when they have the tools.
the trait zone thing kicks ass. you can limit it to one player and make a juggernaut king of the hill thing, so whoever's on the ring gets his health and shield boosted or something like that. awesome stuff.
All these new features look amazing, and the forge pallet actually looks really good. I might be sold on the game now.
The models looks like straight out of spacebuild 3. I guess they got inspiration from it.
Its also unique since no other AAA game offers a in game map editor like halo does.
You should know the difference between a in-game map editor and in-game sandbox.
