to sum it up: Quake 3 = EXPLOSIONS AND FLYING EVERYWHERE WITH LASERS!!! CoD = Camping and walking slow
It's a fucking overreaction. Jesus christ.
Thats the joke. Jesus christ.

I fucking love the contrast between the two. While Black Ops can be fast paced, it can never stack up to Quake.
You could just as easily make a video where a Quake player camps around with a railgun while the CoD player is sprinting like a crazy person using the Stakeout or something.
Quake 3 always wins. No matter the situation.
Quake 3 master race.
Of course Quake 3 wins. But Quake 3 is barely a 90's FPS, it got released in the very end of 1999
I could dig up a really badass Quake 3 frag video (back when they actually were cool).
Unreal Tournament 99 owns all.
Hahahah yes
Here it is Now that's what I call awesome. [sp]I know it's Rocket Arena 3, but it's still pretty much the same game. but with more rocket jumping[/sp]
I find this rocket arena video pretty damn cool: http://www.quakeunity.com/file=2839 Also it would be cool with another shooter like this, enough with the ironsights goddamn.
I've posted this before, but I'll say it again. UT99 beats the recent CoD's, and its a game from the 90's. Thats pretty sad.
Fuck, I miss Quake. I remember like 10 years ago I used to play me the shit out of Quake II. [editline]7th August 2011[/editline] Awww yeah, time to put my nostalgia goggles on.
Half-Life, can't really be beaten by anything.
You could just as easily make a video where a Quake player camps around with a railgun while the CoD player is sprinting like a crazy person using the Stakeout or something.
No, you have to admit modern games have a lot more cover and less running and gunning.
Half-Life, can't really be beaten by anything.
I would rather play CoD than play against whoever the fuck would spend that much time learning to do that.
You could just as easily make a video where a Quake player camps around with a railgun while the CoD player is sprinting like a crazy person using the Stakeout or something.
lol Camping in quake will result in your own death. You have to keep moving in order to not get shot so easily.
No, you have to admit modern games have a lot more cover and less running and gunning.
Because people got fed up with running and gunning. However now people are fed up with cover based combat so we're pulling a full 360.
lol Camping in quake will result in your own death. You have to keep moving in order to not get shot so easily.
I can say the same thing about CoD. Most campers are usually pretty bad, even when the game affords them plenty of leeway, like in Black Ops. Kids barely pulling 1:1 when they have a machine gun, claymore, ghost pro and just sit watching a doorway the whole game because I am applying my Quake 2 and 3 skills courtesy of a shotgun or SMG. And even if that were true, if I was making the video I would stage the Quake segments as the CoD segments in this video were obviously.
what exactly is the reason to compare these games at all? shooter games in the 90's were extremely varied and by no means was Quake 3, a game released in December of 1999, the standard. i'm guessing you all just find it entertaining because it reinforces your odd views about videogames.
