I'm happy about it. Kylo Ren worked best when he didn't have the mask.
Pod Racing is back!
Looks alright. Still drives me up a wall that the First Order is using a fighter design that was already becoming outdated by the end of the OT. The Nebulon style gunships are kind of interesting, and I'm really hoping they don't Starkiller up Rey and have her de-orbit a Star Destroyer with the force. The trailer also made me realize that Kylo Ren is the only character that I'm really interested in or care about right now.
I just want them to surprise me and do something crazy with this movie. It's fine that the first movie was a soft reboot of Star Wars because that lays a foundation for them to build on. If they use that foundation to remake the [I]whole[/I] trilogy, that's what I'm afraid of. I want them to go in a completely different direction.

It wasn't awful, it was just forgettable "star wars" music - like fucking every other star wars movie. other than the opening theme SW music is terribly samey.

It's quite strange actually, what with Rey's blade turning to the dark side and Kylo having a smaller head. I wonder if it means that Luke is a more powerful evil? Or at least that there's evil within him.

The score only gets more memorable the more times you watch it.
Motifs take a while to make themselves synonymous with things in your brain. After watching Episode VII a few times over I appreciate the score so much more than my first viewing.

I think it implies that [sp]Rey will be given training in both light and dark side methods. Methinks Luke wants to ditch the entirely one-sided view of the Force and go for a balanced, equal, and healthy usage of both ends.[/sp]

Couple things I noticed, you see the scene with Luke and R2 from TFA from a different angle, and there are A-Wings.
Also those capital ships are certainly unique.
Is that [sp]Phasma[/sp] I see at 1:32? Maybe they'll utilize this character properly this time around.

I mean it makes sense Luke has some bad-guy shit in him.
The ominous "jedi must end" line speaks to it too. Mark Hamill vocalized to lucas he wanted luke to turn at the end of Empire because he thought it'd be fun - maybe he only accepted to the movie deal on the clause he gets to go evil like he always wanted to?
And of course, there is this moment from Return of the Jedi (starts at 3:30 )

Luke genuinely thinks/considers it. He says "I am defenseless, take your weapon, strike me with all of your hatred and your journey towards the darkside will be complete" in the original too (above is special edition)
Or that it's like what I've said in the past, that balance in the force doesn't mean there's only light side (jedi) or only dark side (sith). It's that there's both or none.

It's served its purpose really. After he took it off we got to see that there's greater depth to him than replacement-bad-guy, he should develop even further instead of going back to where he started.
I'm thinking Luke wants the Jedi to end so there won't be any dark either. No force users being trained, no dark side or light side.
It looks like Luke is training Rey, but probably only to stop Kylo and Snoke.

Epic. But kinda looks cheap. Like they just did this trailer the same way as the previous. Glad that this was not directed by Abrams. His lens and cliche techniques are already pissing me off since ST: Into the Darkness.
