it's about time they introduced the villains the characters seem really interesting
whats with the font in the thumbnail lol
it's about time they introduced the villains the characters seem really interesting
Farcry has always made great villains, but fails to do anything cool with them. We'll see if this does anything different.
im looking forward to farcry but im worried the gunplay is going to be generic and boring
I feel like they revealed waaaay too much already with all these trailers, gameplay videos and mission showcases. Why isnt this game out yet??
Ubisoft puts more effort in their trailers than they do their games. This just looks like a copy paste of 3 and 4, just reskinned.
im looking forward to farcry but im worried the gunplay is going to be generic and boring
The gunplay and movement seem to be reused from Far Cry 3/4. They really need to change things up next game.
Why isnt this game out yet??
Because they're making final adjustments/testing?
Because they're making final adjustments/testing?
Judging by the millions of gameplay videos and exclusive walkthroughs on youtube i was already convinced the game was out for a while now.
I'm interested. I've always had a thing for games with religious nut jobs like Bioshock Infinite.

I saw a couple videos from gamers playing the game and it looks like fun. They got customization for the player with lots of different uniforms. I hope that the villains are as cool as they seem in these trailers. I love a good villain, but I would hate it if they aren't used to their full potential like how they killed off [sp]vass[/sp] so quickly in Far Cry 3.
The gunplay and movement seem to be reused from Far Cry 3/4. They really need to change things up next game.
What exactly can you do different for a first person shooter when you shoot in first person? Like no shit it looks like it plays like 3 and 4, it's a sequel.
Judging by the millions of gameplay videos and exclusive walkthroughs on youtube i was already convinced the game was out for a while now.
There's still bug fixing to do, each company has a certain amount of testing that they want to complete before release, and for many companies it's far too little, and they just rely on providing updates for getting rid of bugs. People wanting games sooner and sooner is the reason we have games on release that are filled with bugs and glitches
What exactly can you do different for a first person shooter when you shoot in first person? Like no shit it looks like it plays like 3 and 4, it's a sequel.
There's a difference between "it plays similarly because it is building off of ideas set by previous games in the series" and "reusing the same code and animations from the previous games but with different skins" Far Cry 4 and Primal felt more like expansions of Far Cry 3 and this looks to be the same but with some more graphical improvements. Honestly I'd be perfectly fine with it, but I never liked how the shooting felt in FC3 or 4 and I've been hoping that they'd mix up the formula a bit more as Far Cry 2 did.

I think it's less to do with the gunplay being the same from the previous games, more to do with the concept of far cry as a game being overdone already. You're right that the last 2 games all played the same, but it's like that's the selling point by now. People expect to be able to pick it up and play it like the previous games and go exploring for shit with a cool story. It's kinda a call of duty situation I think, where if they change too much people complain, and vice versa.
whats with the font in the thumbnail lol
I'm pretty sure that's literally the default Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator font (Myriad)
The tone shift between these and the resistance trailers in comparison to the gameplay of taming bears, wailing on people with bats, dogfighting WWII planes in a sea plane, etc. is kind of jarring. It still looks good, but I wonder if the fairly unserious gameplay will take away from the plot.
I'm pretty sure that's literally the default Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator font (Myriad)
it is
I've been hoping that they'd mix up the formula a bit more as Far Cry 2 did.
Highly unlikely unless they switch developers again. FC2 was Ubisoft Montreal's first attempt at a proper, numbered, non-spinoff/remake, non-console exclusive sequel, and every Far Cry since has been pretty similar. Far Cry 2 might as well have been a Prey/Prey situation, but 2008 was before the era of naming shit exactly the same as previous shit. [editline]a[/editline] I just want everything to feel less floaty. My problem is more with movement than the combat. [editline]a[/editline] Like, precision platforming is nonexistent and I have to hit the jump button on a rock like three times to actually climb it.
Like, precision platforming is nonexistent and I have to hit the jump button on a rock like three times to actually climb it.
Coincidentally I've been playing some FC4 coop since a friend picked it up during the Lunar sale and other than the myriad of bugs that are still in the game, some of which border on game-breaking, this is my biggest gameplay complaint. The overall floaty, unresponsiveness of the movement like jumping and climbing compared with having the wingsuit auto-deploy if you sprint off an edge leads to the fact that about 75% of our deaths on Hard mode come from navigational errors rather than being shot at or mauled. FC5 looks to be a lot less vertical which will help a bit but as far as I can tell the movement and shooting is exactly the same. Which isn't an entirely bad thing; personally I've enjoyed every Far Cry title and this is the third time I've gone through FC4, second with another friend.
I'd hoped that 4 years off would bring more than just subjecting Americans to the stereotypical story-treatment they subject everyone else to. Haven't bought a Far Cry since 2 and i might just get this one at half price since i'm more interested in the premise this time around, but damn if it doesn't look like they've been twiddling their thumbs for 3 years and making a game for one...
