the dragster wr research was truly incredible to read, from the stubbornness of twin galaxies on absolutely refusing clear evidence from both emulating the perfect run with absolute perfect timing as well as looking into the code of a physical copy of the game, to darbian getting the first 5.57 on console. 248 pages of pure insanity http://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/175364-Dispute-Dick-Moreland-Atari-2600-VCS-Dragster-NTSC-Game-1-Difficulty-B-Fastest-Time-Player-Todd-Rogers-Score-05-51
What could compel a dude to make so many hilariously bullshit scores on obscure 2600 games?
impossible scores on games where such value can't exist and nobody cares, feels like this guy was typical PR stunt to get 'records and awards' aka attract attention
Is it really that surprising that Twin Galaxies is corrupt as shit?
I think one of the worst things about Todd Rogers that, despite the absolute mountain of evidence proving otherwise, Todd still insists that his records are valid. He's a pathological liar in every sense of the term and had TG trash their reputation to help him uphold his false narrative.
248 pages of pure insanity http://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/175364-Dispute-Dick-Moreland-Atari-2600-VCS-Dragster-NTSC-Game-1-Difficulty-B-Fastest-Time-Player-Todd-Rogers-Score-05-51
oh my god they've been arguing nonstop for five months straight. twin galaxies is a fucking joke lmao. I'm glad this is getting more and more press because TG deserves to have their name dragged through the mud for being this insanely stubborn does anyone have an account there? i'm curious what the poll results are since apparently guests can't see it, and hell if I'm gonna register just to find out lol
Goddammit Todd! Why you gotta keep lying, mate?
What a bummer, why can't Todd Rogers ACTUALLY be a superhuman player whose fingers automatically modify the game code to achieve impossible times as soon as they touch the controller?

Must be set so only members can view it or something
I feel like Twin Galaxies has been long obsolete since Speed Demos Archive and Speedruns Live became big.
When I first heard of this guy I didn't know it was this bad. I just heard about his record for dragster and thought that was it. To see the clear disconnect between his records and second place and see that they're all approved by referee, that is basically evidence in itself that there's no reason to trust anything from him.

jesus christ lmao the balls on that fat bald fuck to claim he got 65 million in centipede are you serious
Just going through the first 10 pages on that thread was infuriating. Arguing with baby boomers is like trying to destroy a brick wall with balled-up pages of a modern science textbook. It boggles the mind that someone can literally break down exactly why this dude is wrong, but people come out of the woodwork to see their "hero" shine. Arguments range anywhere from "he's a stand-up guy, I can't see him faking something", to "I read that one time, scientists thought neutrinos moved faster than the speed of light but it was just a loose fiber optic cable. Are you sure you didn't overlook anything?" all the way to "TASes have been beaten before". It is literally a breakdown of code from an Atari cartridge. Straight up, there are only so many lines of code. NES games like SMB were more complex. Honestly, the people defending Todd are the same people who desperately want to believe in the concept of "the legend himself". Seems to be a common theme amongst gamers and shit from the 80's. It's like people who believe in their old sports heroes despite them being revealed to be on steroids the whole time. A strange, prideful thinking that remains an artifact from a much more nationalistic mindset of yesteryear.

lmao the timing. they're totally trying to save face by just hiding the discussion now that this video has taken off could they get any worse??

And it only took six months and weeks of effort.
lmao the timing. they're totally trying to save face by just hiding the discussion now that this video has taken off could they get any worse??
shit, there were some amazing posts in there I wanted to screencap there's a guy in there who's been arguing since the beginning. His newest defense is "I hear between 3000-10000 attempts, you hit the lottery. You need to create a deep mind genetic algorithm to play the game, then have it make at least that many attempts otherwise Todd is telling the truth and you're a HATER" [editline]24th January 2018[/editline] or near the beginning where that Jace guy is like "you can only prove a model right by testing literally every possible conceivable scenario so until you try every single potential combination of inputs on every single version of the Atari with every single possible controller you know NOTHING" and then he tries to insinuate that omnigamer is only trying to dirty todd's reputation to bring attention to his book lolllll
Goddammit Todd! Why you gotta keep lying, mate?
Answer the question, Todd!
Answer the question, Todd!
I can't believe the TG mods closed that thread just because people were exposing that they protect Todd it's shameful tbh
I'm watching this "10 speedrunners who were caught cheating" video now, it's pretty fascinating. I never really followed speedrunning before other than the occasional AGDQ watch.
it's baffling that Twin Galaxies is still relevant after the downfall of american arcades
pretty sure they actually made it only accessible to admins lol, since even the senior members are reporting that they can't access it anymore (which ofc happened right after one of them called them out) [t]https://i.imgur.com/Gt8spPp.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/61kCXxC.jpg[/t] [editline]24th January 2018[/editline] o they made a statement http://www.twingalaxies.com/feed_details.php/92/a-letter-from-the-editors-regarding-todd-rogers-apollo-legend/5
We at TG Editorial would like to clear the air regarding our recent interview with Dragster creator David Crane and the recent video posted by YouTube personality Apollo Legend A lot of buzz has been flying around recently regarding a certain video on Todd Rogers. The video in question is a piece on the legitimacy of Todd Rogers by popular YouTuber and critic Apollo Legend. In the video, which can be seen below, Apollo points out various discrepancies in Todd Rogers’ submitted video game records. He cites sources such as Ben Heck, who built a model by which to attempt to attain the lowest time possible in Dragster on the Atari 2600. Apollo goes on to touch on certain controversial actions taken by characters such as Ron Corcoran, as well as Todd Rogers himself during the time at which he was employed by Twin Galaxies. Note: Twin Galaxies Editorial is not the same as Twin Galaxies Adjudication or Admin. Twin Galaxies Editorial has no control over score adjudication, disputes, or final decisions regarding scores and records in the Twin Galaxies database, nor does TG Editorial claim to have any hand in adjudication matters. With that clarification in mind, the elephant in the room must be addressed. Yes, Twin Galaxies Editorial is fully aware of Apollo and his efforts. No, we are not dismissing or taking it lightly. Twin Galaxies as a whole has entered a new era. This is an era where the truth matters above all else. However, in a matter so convoluted, this is not as simple as taking the opposition at a glance and erasing a legendary story overnight. The truth must be dissected from the fog in the most accurate form possible, and this fog is thick. That means every effort must be made to ensure that at the end of the journey, the correct decision is made. This takes time, and we are aware that people are impatient, but we wholeheartedly believe that the thorough path is the correct one. At the same time, Twin Galaxies Editorial realizes the interesting timing of our interview piece with David Crane in relation to the timing of Apollo Legends’ video. We understand that many may feel that we presented Crane as the final word on the matter, sought a demonization of Omnigamer, or that we are seeking to play safe and keep Todd’s records intact. TG Editorial has no interest in such schemes. Mr. Crane’s opinions are opinions, for what that is worth, and his opinion deserves as much scrutiny as any other. Just as well, Omnigamer's and the efforts of those like him deserve to be considered in the discussion with thought and respect until the moment if they are proven false beyond a shadow of a doubt. More than anything, it was illuminating to learn that Activision trashed proof of world records because that would make a conclusion in this matter so much easier. Activision trashed history and now everyone has to dig to find it. That’s the fact. The interview was meant to shed new light on the approach to finding the truth in this matter. TG Editorial is still searching and we will keep searching until all avenues are exhausted. Regardless of where those avenues lead, the removal or justification of Todd Rogers’ records, Editorial is prepared to present whatever comes of it. In the meantime, Twin Galaxies Editorial invites all legitimate skeptics to come forward and share in the discussion. We extend the invitation to all those who have poured their full efforts into discovering the truth behind this matter to share here with us and pool our resources together. 35 years is a lot of history to unravel. As we wade through it, TG Editorial will share the outcome of its investigation, regardless of where that leads.
[editline]24th January 2018[/editline] Still no explanation for why the old 250 page thread was just erased, but regardless I guess the discussion can now be restarted here http://www.twingalaxies.com/entry.php/3461
what a bunch of fucking gazoonies holy shit hahaha man it sucks the thread is gone, there was this great part where Jace was like "here are the certificates of authenticity that Todd sent us" and it was just an obviously photoshopped png que another twenty pages of him explaining why it being faked doesn't matter :y
