I think zombies have gotten stale since the genre was last resurrected. Almost every other game that comes out is a zombie survival FPS game, and as for movies, what more can really be added?

I wouldn't say resurrection, more like murder.

Nobody sticks to what makes the genre great because they'll make more money off a quirky comedy with zombies thrown in, or a gritty horror movie with zombies as the antagonists. It's more of the same generic, audience tuned stuff so of course it gets stale.

I really like how the characters sort of treat the zombies as minor inconveniences rather than some sort of insta kill demon hell spawn.

I realize that zombies are reanimated corpses, but in a zombie apocalypse, you're bound to get used to them.

If they're out of gas, I guess the only thing they can do is try to push through them somehow. Maybe zombies have to sleep, too, or something. I mean there aren't any animals that don't need sleep, even the stupidest ones you can imagine.
