I am still confused on what this is, Does it appear 3D or is it just one of those in-game head trackers? Or is it both?

Basically a single screen split up to render separate images to each eye plus low-latency headtracking, so yeah, both.

*Virtual reality headset. Augmented reality is overlaying virtual images over the real world.
It's one thing for us to see this technology, having grown up with 3d games, graphics, and an affinity for digital interfaces, but this lady has seen the entire development of media. If she is 90 she was born in 1923, so she's seen Movies, Radio, TV, Home Music, and Computers all come into existence in her life, up to to fully immersed 3d Virtual Reality. I can only imagine what we'll have seen by the time we're 90.

I hope I can afford to buy one of these when they come out, just to mess with it. Any word on the price yet? I'm pretty sure those devkits were like $500 or something.

Would the oculus rift work if you're partially blind in the right eye?

your sense of depth perception should be no better or worse than it is in real life

Thanks. That's the developement kit, though, I'd expect the price to drop a little for the final consumer version, what with mass production and stuff.

At least it would cover your field of vision and you still have head tracking.
Dude, he calls his grandmother "Sittu" like I call my grandmother.
