A shorter version of this demo was shown earlier this year, but the full film came out the other day. The footage is rendered using the Unity engine, in real-time runs at 1440p on a GeForce GTX980 More info: http://unity3d.com/pages/adam
Just me or is the title "the full film" slightly misleading for a 6 minute video?
That was awesome.
poor robots glad they weren't killed
This is fantastic.

Damn, guy at the beginning. That would be my exact reaction if I found myself in a robotic body. Seems like he wants to breathe but it's just a placebo since he doesn't need to or something so it's just confusing the fuck out of him.
The atmosphere kinda reminds me of destiny now that I look at it.
amazing
that was cool as fuck, i'd easily watch a full movie of this
man my perception of unity is fucked, i wouldn't even guess this was made in it unless you told me it was
Yep. 5.4 is a great step for the future of Unity. Just wish their new pricing changes didn't seem to actively fight against that. But hey, at least it's a great engine that also has great documentation.
I don't really know what I watched, but it was amazing.
I never realized how beautiful Unity can look.
That was seriously awesome
Right over that hill in the thumbnail is the recycling plant where they are heading.
where did you find that out?
anybody notice the clipping at 2:23 - 2:25? Those two robots walk clean through each other.
I want some game based on this now
this is nice visual storytelling. i understood what was going on right away

I am legitimately upset that I lack the talent to come up with such a story
Existential game like this please and thank you
holy SHIT [editline]21st June 2016[/editline]
Damn, guy at the beginning. That would be my exact reaction if I found myself in a robotic body.
holy SHIT [editline]21st June 2016[/editline] I'm going to go out on a limb and say everyone had their brains uploaded onto robotic bodies :v:
Well, perhaps everyone who was considered to have committed some sort of "felony", since those soldiers were semi-clearly human.
holy SHIT [editline]21st June 2016[/editline] I'm going to go out on a limb and say everyone had their brains uploaded onto robotic bodies :v:
And they were felons, of some sort. The guards with guns appeared human, it were the inmates who were felons, according to the screens on their chests.
holy SHIT [editline]21st June 2016[/editline] I'm going to go out on a limb and say everyone had their brains uploaded onto robotic bodies :v:
That would make little sense. You can't "upload" a brain, only copy it. Plus you'd lose the section of brain responsible for autonomic functions, like breathing. I'm guessing they physically installed the brains. Only way it works.
Maybe they put the consciousness of felons into robot bodies so they can actually live long enough to serve out "life sentences" or prison time exceeding one hundred years. Wouldn't that be shitty.
That was fantastic and left me with a ton of questions. A full movie of this would be amazing.

Those liberators though look dangerous for humans so im guessing theres a robot revolution in that new planet holy hell, i just wanna see that movie already
