Hey everyone, if you don't remember me then I started a channel a few months ago that seemed to pick up traction pretty quickly. I'd really like to thank everyone for all the support they've been giving me so far, and especially thank you for the inspiration to keep making videos. This one took 2 months of some solid work to get out, but I think it was worth it. Please enjoy. I've also posted my previous video below if anyone is interested in other shit I do.

That was the most in depth review and analysis of toy story I have ever witnessed.
I love this! Well edited and paced, keep it up

Thanks so much dude! I'm glad you mentioned the analysis part, I was worried it might have been not so great considering I've never done a movie before.
the hidden image you sneaked in at around 9:34/9:35 were just two frames from the movie unclipped. ALL THAT EFFORT I PUT INTO FINDING IT, IN VAIN!
Oh yeah, great video man! That's really all I can say!

And holy shit, I had to pause after you were like "WOODY, WHAT THE FUCK, WOODY NO!" So I could catch my breath from laughing
[editline]16th July 2015[/editline]
that melee part was fucking hilarious too!
I love Toy Story for all the small things that you notice after the first viewing, stuff like the Shining Carpet, or the announcer on the Buzz advert being Penn Jillette.
Just when I thought I knew everything about Toy Story. I remember reading the Shining Carpet thing a while ago, but that Penn Jilette is brand new to me
that Penn Jilette is brand new to me
Heard him talk about it on his podcast once. Said they wanted him to be as loud as humanly possible and he ended up fucking up his voice after doing it.
Also, great video, man!

I laughed out loud at this after going back and watching the scene again, you can actually kinda hear how ridiculously hard he's shouting into the mic :v: thanks so much for the feedback dude, it means a lot.
Really well done. Funny and insightful.
I feel you, Toy Story is my and my brother's closest childhood film out of everything else. Wonderfully detailed breakdown of the film with all the positivity and joy that you bring like with your other videos.
Also that bad dragon frame :rrerr:
Wow that was fucking brilliant
The Rwandan Genocide was in 1994 though. But since you mentioned that when talking about mistakes I'll interpret it as meta-as-fuck
Your videos are always a good thing to see. Keep up the good work!
I love your videos, I just subscribed after watching like three in a row!
The only criticism I really have is that the titles seem kind of clickbaity. But what are you gonna do in the wild world that is youtube nowadays? Keep up the good work!
amazing as always PG, You deserve all the praise and support you get!

No yeah, I definitely can see how you'd say that. It's a bit of inspiration from Game Grumps. Thanks for the feedback and comments man! I'm really happy to see that you watched more!
Yes! Just today I wondered when a new PG video was coming out! Thanks a bunch! Toy Story is one of my favorite movies of all times!
That review was :incredible:
Really liked this one. Keep at it!
You just got yourself another subscriber, keep up the good work man it's super good.
I was just wondering when another one of these was coming out. good as ever
Didn't notice Whedon did the screenplay.
And saying that the cowboytown scene is a "representation of a childs playtime" is a bit weird. It's literally a childs playtime we are seeing.
Also you resort to basically just retelling the movie too often.
Look at 20:00 and onward for an example.
And I kinda dislike that there is not a single bit of serious critique in the whole thing.

Yeah, a lot of these seem really, really heavy-handed with the "this is the best thing in existence" thing. Like, I get that it's hyperbole, but you seem to be overdoing it a bit.

I say "representation of childhood" because it's exactly that, actually - it's a showing of an average child's playtime. A sampling of the most common elements. Not only that, but I explain why I feel this way; Pixar could've taken the easy way out and just had Woody and an assortment of other Western-era toys, or perhaps just Woody and Bo. Instead they chose to make it feel real by showing that Andy was a kid who, like the average child watching the movie, had a wide variety of toys. It increases the relatability and allows the audience to project their own image onto Andy, while still keeping him his own character. That's what representation is.
The only time I "retell" the movie is when I condense the middle parts to skim along the movie to parts where I find much interest, and that's where I break it down. Near the end, I'll agree it got a little long-winded perhaps - but I kept it jut because I wanted to show off the ending a little bit and cap off the journey I've been clamoring about the whole time. I think my other segments can make up for this, however.
If you're looking for "serious critique", then you're in the wrong place bud. If you were expecting this to be some full-on "review" of sorts, then it just kind of isn't. I've heard analysis and appreciation thrown around, and in my eyes those are much more accurate terms.

I don't have a good reason for this. It's really just the way I express things in my daily life. If I really love something, then for the moment I think it's the best thing. At the very least, I always do my best to explain the reasons behind the hyperbole and break down everything, so I can at least say it's not just "the best thing ever the end". I tend to find that the smallest things that are actually amazing tend to be quite overlooked.
I'm 3 years older, but holy shit, Toy Story and Crash Bandicoot 2 were enormous parts of my childhood too (my name here might be a hint). I was tearing up when I watched Toy Story 3 after all these years, the nostalgia these movies prey on is just too much.
Really entertaining video by the way, your voice is very likeable.
I liked it
a bit too much yelling tho like christ I get exhausted too
Very good, PG. I'm just a bit worried it'll get taken down for copyright reasons.
Reviews, or review-esque videos tend to be protected under fair use if I'm not mistaken.
Holy fuck you need more views man.
You're doing a great job. Kind of reminds me of Jontron, when Jontron did good videos. Or videos. Or things in general.
Anyway, keep it up. You're really killing it.
The "extremely loud clip" meme is a little fatiguing, maybe clip/distort it so it sounds loud but lower the volume down to slightly above normal?
Loved the the toy story one man holy shit yes.
Did get to me that you didn't point out the slightly subtle joke with the crane on women's legs though.
"hooker" get it?

You sure are right but it still comes across as if you're thinking it's the greatest metaphor in existence to show a typical playtime to symbolize a relatable child play situation

No biggie, just a bit overdone.
All in all your enthusiastic and very moving style(which I totally like) could jut be backed up by a little more thoughts, new points and knowledge, it's on the brink of just thriving on its tone and theme which is not bad but bores m in the long run.
Imagine the indepth analysis of RLM or "everyframeapicture" with your very cool style, your relatable and enthusiastic voice. Awesome.
All in all your telling style also reminds me of "didyouknowgaming" a lot which is good.
Also about the retelling. There is a "LOT" of "then this happens, now this happens". Look at the big reviews. This is not how to review.
